Water only organic COCO mix until flowering

Didn't know if I should put this into the drain to waste hydro sub forum or organic forum..Anywho, A long time ago there was a post on another forum by a user who used Marine Cuisine and basically made an organic dry mix that would last up until flowering using water only.

Could anyone recommend any updated guides? My plan is to go COCO as it's cheaper to buy compressed bricks and hopefully add whatever to get me to flower without needing to be fed.

Well i been having success with a supercoco, here's the new recipe, first one lasted 3 weeks before Def appeared.

3 blocks of roots organics coco, roughly 6 cf
50 lbs earthworm castings
4 cf big chunky perlite
5 lbs green sand
2.5 lbs feather meal
2.5 lbs alfalfa meal
2.5 lbs kelp meal
1 lb bat quano or fish bone meal
1 cup azomite
1 cup roots oregonism or great white
4 tbsp humic acid

this mix has been working great and come flower time you'll see a ton of bud sites and big white hairs and huge white roots.

oi righto, 6 cf is like what 40 some odd gallons. My plan is to only have 4 plants in 3g containers. So I guess I could scale that down

Always make way more than you need also. If you have the cash that is, soil that isasitting is only getting your better and better so if you have stuff that isgetting a fungus looking white web on top as it's cooking then you know it's good shit. I cook all my stuff for at least a month. I have stuff that's been cooking for nearly 6 months and I plan to keep building soil in the mean time. Remember to recycle your soil too. Please don't throw it out thinking it's no good, in actuality it's better the next time you run it after being reammended. In organics it's all about your microbes and those Lil bacteria and fungi are what feeds your plants, the longer you have a soil around the greater their numbers and the better your plants will be . Trust me man.

Yeah, I'm currently getting everything needed for my first serious grow. So i'll be a bit strapped. According to most websites one block of the compressed coco expands to make 15g. So i'll only buy 1 block. Hopefully the rest of that comes in 5 or so pound bags ^_^

Personally, I wouldn't use anything smaller than a 5 gallon pot for an organic soil grow. 7 would be even better. These days I use 10 gallon pots.

How much space do you have?

Spicy, I agree , I use 7 and up in flower now and starting at 18 inches they end up being huge beast when done, I use to veg forever in 3 gals and I now know that these plants love root room, I love my smart pots, I have 5,10,20 gal sizes and the 20 produces some dank forsure, I'm not seeing a huge difference in my plants with the 10 and 20 but anything below 7 gals in flower will no longer happen.

Nookies, don't stress it, if I were you I would just buy 2 blocks just in case but here is a rough price for the stuff I listed.

1 block of coco $12
1 bag of black gold ewc $15
Perlite $5-10
Greensand $5-10
Feather meal $5-10, really everything else beside the mycos which are very expensive but greatly needed, don't skimp on mycos. Stuff will cost ya about $50 a lb, just remember that your ganja is worth roughly $4000 a lb so keep that in mind.

Ah. That's a little smaller than my space (4x4 homemade cabinet). I would still go with at least 5-gal. You could fit 4 of those no problem.

Oi, yeah wouldn't the 5+ gallon be overkill? I only plan on a 2-3 week veg at most. I think I should have stated earlier that I really don't plan on going straight organics all the way through. I was kinda hoping just to veg using that, then end up finishing her off with chem nutes. So a huge microbe/bacteria filled organic grow isn't really needed since the chemicals would basically kill it all off anyways right? I guess my main reasoning for this is I heard organics makes it a lot more difficult to fuck up, and it won't burn unless you actually try to burn the shit out of em,etc. Since the easiness of it.

The thread that got me very interested in this had pics and the plants looked really good. Basically he was using this formula.

COCO MIX
For vegging we will us a 1 gallon pot
1 gal coco fiber coir + 2 oz perlite
3 tbsp Marine Cuisine
2 tbsp Epsom salt (some extra magnesium)

He did state this probably needed to cook a bit (a couple weeks), but this seems so much easier and simpler than buying 190821 different 25,50 pound bags of whatever. He also stated he replaced the epsom salt with lime. He used PH'd water only with an occasional feeding of Maxicrop liquid seaweed.

nook,
I'm no expert here, but if you plan to switch to chem for flower, then i don't understand why you think you'd derive the benefits of organics without actually finishing up organic...i mean, the idea of water only medium is basically the feature of organics you seem interested in. You'll have to measure out your ferts and jive--not that thats overly difficult or anything, just not AS easy as watering. Now, if you don't step up the bucket size, you'll need to make teas to get through flower anyway, also not difficult, esp if you have the leftovers from building your medium. So, in short, i'm not sure you're going to get the easiness you're looking for by switching horses mid race; not to mention, the sweet sweet taste of purely organic buds!
be easy,
:leaf:

Righto, understandable. It's just I have the general hydroponics trio almost all full left over.

Basically this upcoming grow is my first serious grow after spending 500 bucks on the things needed. As figured seedling to the start of flowering stage is do or die since it's so young/fragile. Basically I plan to switch to full on organics after I use up the bottles of nutes I have.

Save the bottles. One day you'll want to toss it up for a change, and ghetto hydroponics is the way to go! Sometimes I'll get bored and plant plant like 9 or 10 into 1 gallon hempy buckets in my 3x3 tent, just to mix it up a little. That should burn through your excess liquid ferts.
