water ph

iam looking into what ph i need ive read that i can use normal tap water but i have to ph it before i use it, but whats the best ph level. does tap water affect the plant in any way compared to sterilized. iam just thinking about cost and the messing about that i would have to do using sterilized water. also ive read you have to leave water standing for 3 days before i use it why is this.

you can use tap water I do and iv been growing kill for years. ph your water and nutrient solution to 6.0/6.5. I have never let my water sit out i just ph and water right after. you should be more worried about the right amount of nutrient to give your plants. never use the recommended dose thats on the bottle. you should use way less. also know that your nutrient can make your ph go up or down so be sure to check you solution after you mix you water ph and nutrient all together.
