Water question

I am a guerilla grower for the firts year. This year i had a difficulty with water as i had to carry it a long way in my backpack to water my plants. But i started thinking:
what if I dug a hole, long and deep, and sheet it whith polyvinyl or something so that water woul stay inside the hole. Is that a problem as the water shall not be pure? Has anybody tried it? Any other ideas?

i was bringing gallons of water in on my backpack until i found a swamp near by, that swamp water is like Nitrogen heavy gold for the plants, they love it. you could bring a huge bucket/drum out there and spray paint it camo or something.

haha i'd be pissed at myself when i'd find a swamp near and brought all that water with me:D
and the idea of bringing drums with me is just great:)

but the question stays, will the water be too contaminated if it stays that way in?

not if its used with in a week or so .. just don't let it stay there for to long .. and use common sense .. look at it .. smell it ..
worst case .. animals will drink of it .. when used try to clean the bucket/hole so leaf`s and stuff don't sit in it ..

I keep a small 40 gallon stock tank under a cedar by my grow. I carry in a little water each time so it's not so bad. I only supplement water about once a week if they are getting a little rain because they are in the ground in a nice low spot.

I have a similar dilemma... My grow this summer was kind of last minute, and my spot was remote and not near a feasable water source so i was stuck carrying 5 gallon pails for the summer. I plan on using that same spot again, as well as another a little ways away. Once i scout a water source i was thinking about running a line with a hand pump to a 55 gallon drum hidden in the thick trees.

Not sure about your question though. If the water had leaves and other debris rotting in the bottom of the container i'd assume the water might have a low ph. You could always just check it with ph strips.
