Ive asked about heat exchangers(fan chiller) and swamp cooler before with no good results.
So I bought a used 1 fan heat exchanger from my store knowing that it didnt leak. I knew there was a problem with the thermostat and the solenoid was leaking. I paid 200 for it plus a used 10" eco plus axial fan for 45$, i replaced the axial fan with the older fan for noise reduction. It works well.
Now since the solenoid leaks i just removed it and hooked up to water line for constant use. But i put the heat exhanger on a timer and i remember to turn the water off/on. I was wondering if i can hook the solenoid to a power supply like timer to control the solenoid to turn the water on/off? Or do i need a relay??
Do you think the solenoid leaks because the thermostat doesnt open/close it. water runs threw it and out the other end but the solenoid leaks. So im gonna buy a knew selonoid and want to power it with the timer or relay.
