Water storage

Iam hoping this year I will be lugging water only three or four timesto my spot, compared to last year which was a weekly occurrence, please post any comments or suggestions about this method! I’mgetting ready for spring opener and have been thinking of relativelycheap ways to store water at my spot because I'm sick of luggingwater almost half a mile every time I need to water thebabies.

Thinking about picking up Two Rubbermaid 54 Gallon Roughneck Hi-Top Totes (22$each at home depot) bury them bitches in the soil and dedicate a daywith my grow partner to fill them up with some near by pond water.Maybe even buy a camouflage tarp and suspend it above the tote in atrolley formation so water will be draining into the the tote when itrains, has anyone had any luck with this method? also one morequestion would it be alright to pack a bunch of snow in the Tote justbefore it all melts, lets say mid April and let it turn to water touse for my plants?
-Thanks in advance

Im buying a collapsible kids pool and lining it with a camouflage tarp. It will be under some reall dense trees so its not visible from the air.
A 8' wide by 18" deep kids pool holds 500 gallons of water.

Use water crystals in your holes and a slow release fert. like Osmokote Flower and Shrub, and you will not need to water or feed very often. When you water or it rains the crystals will hold water and release it slow.

what do you plan to do to keep the water from going stagnate...also what about skeeters?
Do you think water thats been sitting for a few months will be bad for the plants?
Im not worried about mosquitoes living in the water. I dont see how that could hurt anything.

The last few years ive watered out of this pond near my spot. The pond water is pretty cruddy looking but my plants seemed to be fine with it.
Last year this pond dried up in july and I was left hauling water twice a week 2 miles back in the woods. My plan is to put this reservoir near the pond and when it looks like the pond is getting low fill the reservoir.
I dont know. Ive got a few months to think about it

I'venever used or heard of water crystals tell a couple months back, wishI would of had them last year, what brand would you suggest? And formy slow release Fert I'm thinking abut going with advanced nutrientsheavy harvest. has anyone had luck with this product and would I needto buy all three buckets Spring, Summer and fall or would I bealright with just one of the three.

Asfar as keeping the water from going stagnate, I have not thought tomuch about it, do you think doing a heavy stir for 10 minutes, twicea week would keep the water decent, or have any suggestions? as faras bugs and rodents the totes I will be using have secure lids tokeep unwanted creatures and what not out so I don't think that willbe much of a problem.
Thanks for the help

Hey brown shoes. I used marical grow water crystals last year. They did seem to work.
Im gonna try heavy harvest for the first time this year also. Im getting all three buckets but ive talked to a few guys that only use summer and fall with good results. Google brown dirt warrior. He has some good videos that explain how he uses HH.

just put alittle chlorine in the wateR? not a crap load but alittle should kill of nasties and still be good for your plants. i think they also have stuff for ponds you could use. if fish and lily pads can grow in it im sure it would be safe for weed

I will for sure be picking some water crystals up the next time im at the hydro shop, gonna talk to the owner and see what he suggests.

Fudge it just gonna go with all three buckets. haha I'm subscribed to him on youtube, he inspired me to try out heavy harvest, man that guy is a fucking beast!! I love his videos,
I see him mixing the heavy harvest spring completely into his soil before he plants, so do you just top feed the summer and fall?

I know the pond water is good stuff, now im just worried about letting the water go bad as it sits. Gonna look more into the chlorine idea and see what comes up, thanks!

im planning to find a low drainage area, dig a hole deep enough so that it fills up with water, and have myself a little well
