I Am Doing A Plot Of 20 This Year And In The Past i Have Done About 10. I Have Always Waterbombed(carried Water In) from a nearby river(not close enough to run a line) and was thinking of carrying a 55 gallon drum in camo paint it and just fill it up in the beginning of the year which will save me at least a few trips to start. any info about water getting stagnant? way to add oxygen back to the water or prevent it from losing it? The drum will sit in heavy dense woods just outside my plot so it wont get much sun if any. Anyone done this before?

Collect the rain water go pay for a water truck get the water from your house. But please stop snaking water out of my river and streams. As far as keeping the water good, pretty sure the Mormons know of ways to keep the water good they stack a ton of water in there garage and shit for a long time. Maybe google what they do. Good luck friend.

pay for a water truck for a gorilla grow??/ are you serious?

If I'm gonna do a gorilla grow you're damn right...I'll use whatever source is closest. and doesn't that rainwater your talking about collecting go straight to the rivers and streams anyway?

as far as the ops question goes.... keep light out of it and keep it cool by burying it partway or something and it will stay fresh much longer.

and yes, I would try to collect rainwater to keep it full, rather than packing it in.

Where did u come up with gorilla grow? I'm confused now.

First off it takes a lot of balls to snake water from a river or stream for a 20 plot grow. 1 Plot = 60 feet x 100 feet I believe. And then the amount of work involved is insane. Not to mention the fines from fish and game you'd be upstate for 7 years most likely. The left would be so far up your ass you'd wish u never would have never done that. In this case were talking about 300,000 gallons of water for 20 plots done right. This is all just what I believe in, doesn't mean u guys do. But I'm pretty sure the more water u snake the less good your bud will be.

Look, I understand where you are coming from, I really do.

my point is the part bolded in red is so unjust. Why is it ok for farmers to spray thousands of acres of soybeans amounting to probably trillions if not more gallons of water, water that is all drawn from resevoirs, lakes, streams, rivers and wells. and also spray billions of gallons of pig/cow shit which runs right into our rivers?

300,000 gallons is litterally a drop in the proverbial bucket, besides, the runoff from a well maintained outdoor grow would be minimal.

any suggestions on making a stealthy rain collection system?

yah, i'd bury a couple drums and have a camo tarp or something stashed, so you could put it up when you know you have rain coming to collect and fill them, and take it down during dry times so as not to draw suspicion. I bet you could reduce your packing by half anyway.

the only thing is you would wanna try to keep all leaves and shit outta your drums, so i'd keep some sort of cheapo pool net stashed too. maybe inside one of the drums.

You're talking about growing a weed. Pour any water you can find on them the plants don't discriminate. As far as keeping it clean, it won't matter to the plant considering tannic acids and other runoff associated with trees. As for storage...food grade plastic 55 gallon drum with the top removed set under a tree and pray for rain. This won't be the kind of grow to worry over water ph or any of that. At 9 pounds a gallon you'll have your work cut out for you lugging water into the grow...g/l

I'd store a couple of camouflaged drums full of water and not worry about stagnation. I'm pretty sure that stagnation is more repugnant to humans than it is to plants.

Stored water will not go bad within your timeframe. Roots get their oxygen from the water flooding out the old air then as the soil dries it pulls in fresh air. The oxygen does not have to be in the water. Your plan will work fine.
