it all depends on how old they are and how warm your grow room is, my plant is a 6 footer and is 2 weeks away from harvest. she is in a 5 gallon bucket and drinks at least a gallon a day of fresh water
hope this helps +rep

dependin on how stressed the plants are too + the size of roots and plant too. small roots less draw. i dont use celcius but i think 27 is like 75 or somehtin and thats good. im def not a pro but if your plants arent drinkin anything then you may have a bigger problem on your hands. maybe a nutrient lock or something? you might want to check out the plant problem section and browse thru and see if theres any other symptoms your experiencing

I think it was nute lock out due to the fact im a first time grower and prob week and half ago didnt really have any root system now i have dialled everything in properly i.e right oxygen and nutes ect the roots have grown loads. maybe when the root system is fully established il see higher levels of water being drunk????? cheers

Hi BigW,

I've been growing for a few months now and have experimented a lot with DWC. It's hard to say exactly what your problem is without pics, but I can say that that without a good root system, water consumption will be very low and hardly noticeable at the beginning of your grow. You also mentioned nute lockout and I was wondering what symptoms you saw to cause you to think that. Based on what the veterans here say, it's very possible to misdiagnose these sorts of things. I have also noticed that limited or weak lighting will affect the amount of water used even with plants that have established root systems. What lighting are you using? Nute concentrations, room temps, water temps?

Most likely, as long as the plants are not showing signs of stress, slow water uptake is due to limited root mass. Also, if you just don't have many roots in the water yet, all you need is time. Hope this helps.

Plants drink water as they consume the nutes in it. It will vary from time to time, don't worry unless you see no loss of water day after day. Are those 6 females you have in an 8 gal tote? The most I ever grow is 4 so that may get more crowded than you want.
