Water

Ok, so me have a water question. I have 6 plants under one 600 and I'm using 5 g. smart pots. I started from clones (Durban Poison and Master Kush) and slowly worked them into the nutrient cyle (2 feeds, the first 1/4 nutrients, the second 1/2 nutrients, and for the third feed which I did today, the full nutrients for the schedule I'm on. Now they are ready to start kicking some ass! I have watered in between feeds. I'm using 2 gallons of H2O when I feed and water, but it doesn't seem like it's enough. Should I up the gallons for these six or remain doing 2g. for each water or feed? I'm watering or feeding almost everyday and the soil and plants seem to want more. Should I give them the full throttle and up the gallons or continue my scene?

Wow klaat my girls just sprouted and I've never really learned about how much water to give them. I know that I've been givin mine about 1/2 gallon the 2 times that I have watered. I hope someone jumps on this quick cuz id like to know the answer! Mine r in 5 gallon pots as well. I know that its not good to water everyday but never really figure exactly how much to give them. Its a good rule of thumb that when u stick your finger in the soil about 1 inch deep and its completly dry....its time to water. I would stick to that theory

My problem is that everyday I do this, the soil is dry. I'm using Fox Farm (1/3 perlite, 1/3 ocean forest, and 1/3 light warrior) with organic humboldt nutrients. I don't ever remember having to water the plants this much.

Water when you feel that the pot that your plant is in feels dry... What i mean by this is, feel the weight of your pot when the first inch or so of your soil is dry and it is looking ready for a water so you know what the dry weight is.. then after you water your girls, feel the difference. Next day, feel the weight of your girls then.. so on... you just really have to learn to read your plants and water them when they are thirsty

from reading your original post, you use plain ph water with no nutes between nute feedings?

i dont know what kind of technique that is, but if it works for you keep doing it.

personally, i feel that if you are feeding them nutes, you shouldnt feed plain water otherwise it dilutes your nutrients from the previous feeding.

when i start feeding my babes nutes, thats all they get is nutes until its time to flush. or if i get nute burn, but thats rare for me nowadays.

anyways, feed when they feel light.

as long as theres a drainage hole for your runoff you should have no problem even if you go a little heavy on feeding, excess will just drain out the bottom and you can probably wait longer in between feeds this way.
