waterfarm buckets

To everybody using waterfarm buckets with the air pump. Do you leave the drip run 24/7 or what? need some opinions.

i personally would run it 24/7 at least until the roots got towards the bottom of your buckets......then maybe let it run every 10 minutes for 3 minutes.....just experiment...some people say twice a day...to each their own...

I always left them on 24/7, then heard some people run them timed. I dont know what way is correct.

I run 2 of them independently and ran them 24/7 until I had roots in the bottom res.Once I had roots I ran the extra air stones in the lower res and set those on a 24/7 pump.For the drip rings I set set for 30 min on every 2 hours during sun time and 15 minutes on every 4 hours at night.This gives the roots in the upper bucket more air and lessons mold/humidity problems if you have them.I like the hydroton to be able to dry a little between waterings.

I am using 5 gal buckets with 10" net pots. with the waterfarm drip rings. I always left the air pump running 24/7. mabye throw a airstone in the bottoms? Ill try it.
