ok so i was talking to some homies today and we got on the subject of ppl watering their plants w/ random things to bring out some flavor. ive heard of ppl disolving skittles and other candy in the water to bring come up w/ skittle flavored pot. also someone sprinkling fruit loops and fruity pebbles over the soil etc. i personally have never smoked skittle or fruit loop flavored pot so im not really sure what to think. now molasses on the other hand i know works but has anyone experimented w/ random candy to have any effect at all???

just a thought

well... think about it this way

i dont think it does shit because tasting something...i.e. candy or kool aid or something

you taste it... you put it in your mouth and taste buds go to work...

one the other hand...

setting something on fire, and inhaling the smoke is definetly NOT going to taste the same as eating it

I think any attempt to flavor your weed through sprinkling candy on top of your soil, or remnants of candy in your water of any sort is just asking for problems. Weed is supposed to taste like weed...if you want something with flavor pick the right strain, don't try and artificially water it in. There was a science project in 7th grade if I remember correctly where a plant watered with Dr Pepper was growing bigger and healthier than just plain old water...maybe you can experiment with that on your crop and let us know how it goes. 23 flavors...

Well think of what flavored candy has in it...would you take 30 grams of sugar and pour it into your watering can...then add some food coloring along with 30 other different chemical ingredients, then feed that to your plant?? just sounds like its not worth the effort. If it did have any lasting effects on your final product its most likely not going to make or break the pleasure ratings of smoking your herb.

its only the idea that you could get a different flavor out of it. its not like your trying to get your plant to OD on sugar. i was just wondering if their were any credible sources out there that have experimented w/ different things instead of spending tha money on strains like bubblicious. its the spirit of trying new shit to see what might happen. when im able to i plan on trying a few random things like peppermints etc. just wondering if anyone else has tried before so i can get some sort of idea of whether or not it makes a difference

This thought you had was a bad idea from the start. Not talking shit. Just don't do it.

Candy or cereal or any other kind of sweet smelling food isn't going to do anything except for leave you a pile of food to clean up.

LOL I must say I agree with alot that has been said here because it makes logical sense, but really ffs guys where's your sense of adventure? If it was up to you guys we'd still be riding around on horses and flight ....would only be what the birds do.....sigh.

Catch my drift...

lol, i can understand peoples unwillingness to overdose their plants on artificial sugars that could potentially fuck up their grow :D

Basically if your trying to fuck with flavoring your pot, you dont do it during the grow process, you do it just one or two days before you chop your plant down. You have to use a Flavor Extract -- Take Vanilla for example, this seemed to be the most popular flavor with the best results. You let your plants dry out, as you normally would right before chop. On the day of chop (this seems to work best from what ive read), you take your Vanilla extract, and you add it to a pure water solution, something like a couple tablespoons per gallon of water. 2 hours maybe before you intend on cutting the plants down, water them with this new vanilla flavored water. The plants will soak up more than enough of the water with vanilla in it in that 2 hour timespace. If you leave it for more than two hours, you increase your chances of bacteria and mould forming in your nuggets because of the excess amount of artificial sugars being introduced to the plants right before you cut them down.

So 2 hours, no more than that really is a good idea to wait to flavor your pot. There are a couple other ways, but they all involve waiting until the last day or two days before chop, but this method is the most effective.

There are products like floralicious that enhance the plants natural flavor and aroma. If you're going for better taste and smell use something like that.

This thread reminds me of people in high school throwing orange peels and shit in with their herb.

If you grow good herb you won't need to add anything. Just grow bomb and forget the fruity pebbles :)

Orange peels are a good way to moisten some dry weed. Botanicare makes Sweet, in berry and citrus, its costs about as much as a couple boxes of cereal and candy.

If you properly grow the herb it will have plenty of terpenes to give you flavor.
You can't replace the bubbulicious strain by feeding a random plant skittles for flavor, it just doesn't work like that...
