Watering issues,

Here’s my pink kush on day20 in flower and day 80 overall. My question is about watering. She’s looking thirsty in this pic however the pot is still heavy. I’m using roots organic soil in 5gal pot. Mars hydro 4800 fc light. I’m using advance nutrients. Ph feed to 5.8-6.0. Am I missing something?

How often is it getting watered?
How do you water? Do you allow the pot to drain, or give little bit water more often?
I use your water twice a week by hand, and I watered till some runoff. I believe I’m just not giving it enough time to dry out completely. I water and the plant perked up and a couple days later it looks like it’s underwater, but the pot remains heavy. I’m just gonna sit back and let it dry out completely. I believe that’s been my problem all along.

I’ve grown in Roots Organic Original and found it to a little finicky.
Watch out for PH issues and dry pockets in the medium.

That container looks like it would hold water for about a week, unless the plant is in very high heat.
My shot in the dark guess is overwatering/root disease issues.

I don’t use fabric pots any longer….but I used to.
I’m totally throwing darts here but, Yours looks like it’s not totally full and stretched out on the sides.
I think be easy for dry spots to pop up.
RO original did better for me when I let it dry back a touch more than the other bagged mediums I’ve tried.
I might consider letting her dry back, then bottom watering once to ensure the entire medium is wet……then resume top watering.
I’ve done this and it’s solved some issues in the past.
Submerge the bottom 2-3” and leave it 8-10 min. That should soak the bottom 1/3rd-1/2. Then water the top as usual until it reaches what’s been soaked.
I’ve got a feeling that might perk up those fans.
Good luck.

I was going to suggest bottom watering once to ensure there were no dry spots as well. Those fabric pots can get dry spots fast, and once they develop they will just repel water. Soaking them for 10-15 minutes will ensure everything is getting evenly wet again. I stopped using fabric pots years ago for just this reason.

I've also been getting leaf issues (holes, tears, light-green, brown tips) in early veg despite what I thought was more careful watering and pH control (2nd grow) and am beginning to doubt the 'dry to first knuckle' method. I'm now going for waiting till pot is much lighter and totally dry and will see how I go. I'm also in a fabric pot for the first time. Based on Bullmark's suggestion, I'm going to try bottom watering once totally dry.

Alright just bottom watered her and she’s perking up already. Now should I top feed or do I let her dry out completely and feed?

If the top is somewhat dry, I’d give a little just to even it out. Then let her dry back, before soaking her slowly.
I’ve gotten dry spots in fabric and plastic pots. And I use a wetting agent every time. It just happens on occasion.
Most of my grows have been free of any major issues…..but a minor concern here and there. Looking back, I’m certain a lot of those were due to dry pockets.
Good luck.

Anytime. Let me know if she perks up. I’m really curious about it.
Sometimes I’ll have a plant that just droops a little the entire grow and I have no idea why. They finish and the end product is great, but it bugs the hell out me. There’s nothing better than opening my grow room door and seeing all the leaves standing at attention.

Me too. I've just top-watered mine after 5 days - pot fully dried out. Let us know how you get on.

You water too much. The plant roots start having problems. Like a yard weed they like drying out. Heres better. Water every 7 days but mine are 5 or 7 gallon air pots. I let the water stay in the saucer for about 1 hour almost 2inches in saucer. Then suck it out of the saucer w a wet vac ryobi from HD. wonderful but noisy. pick it up dry and full of water. Learn from it...ur a farmer now.

Everything OK so much better, I just got some spider farmer self watering bases and now everything will be bottom watered. Thanks again for your feedback.
