Watering PH

Is it really helpful to bring the PH of water down to 5.5-6.5 as is recommended by many growers? Or 7 will be just fine?

I am talking about hydro for one side of the question and soil for the other.

As a soil grower presently, I would find it very cumbersome to mix and test the Ph properly before applying water every time. No?

This is exactly why I gave up on hydro... its too much work. But to answer your question yes it is very important to correct your pH to 5.5-5.8 for hydro setups... i wouldn't be surprised if theirs products that help buffer your pH in hydro. Im sure a hydro grower will chime in

Thanks but what about soil? No problem since the organic materials act as a buffer??? Or still important?

For hydro, it's highly important to keep the pH in the right range so the plant can take in all the nutrients, when I was a newbie -learning - experimenting with it all first two grows I didn't pH..some plants did ok and some absolutely hated it. But a big difference when I started doing it right. They love it.

I try to keep my water below 6. General Hydro makes PH Down that works well.
With that said, don't chase it. After changing the water give it a day to rest and neutralize before adding balancer.
When I change water I let the nutes and pH settle for 24 hours before adjusting EC and pH

no reason to adjust the ph unless its way off . ph 6 -ph 7 is the ideal ph, but you shoul be good without it
The water in my city is around 7 and I grow in soil. Do u think distilled water would be better if not how do u lower the ph?

PH HAS to be in range in hydro & coco, soil buffers it itself.

If ph is out of range for too long in hydro then you will have issues
