Boiling will kill or otherwise rid the water of some of the good stuff in it too. You're better off just filling your container or jug and letting it sit for a minimum of 24 hours. The chlorine and flouride will dissipate, and to a degree, the ph will neutralize itself also. The baggest downside I see, and have experienced, with spraying to water, is that depending on what type of lights you use, and how close they are, you can actually fry your leaves, or at least parts of them. The light intensifies as it passes through water droplets, acting like a magnifying lens, which can be harmful to your plants.
