watering

ok so everyone i have tlked to has told me to water every three days but when i look at it the soil looks really dry after bout a day an a half, how much should i water each plant? thre around 4 inches and i dont wanta kill them by over watering i think im just watering less then i should each time any help would b very appreciated

you should check about half inch down if its now dry

(4) 100 equlivent cfls alil over a foot away at the moment but another user just told me i should lowere the light to around 4 inches
