Watts PER SQFT

Hello I am interested to know with a good strain and proper technique How many watts per SQFT is needed to grow 1LB. For a ebb and flow style SOG. How many plants would you use if you had 3 4'x2' Tables. I have 1400 watts of HPS is that enough or do I need more?

1400 over 4x6 is plenty of power... 58w per sqft.
sound slike you have a 1k & a 400.... i would suggest running a pair of equally powered lights for uniform growth, developement, & yeild, but you will be able to grow reagrdless of what gear you are rocking.

Thanks for the Info. Yes you are right Right now I have 400 watt HPS but I am starting a new grow in 2 weeks and I am buying everything for it this weekend. I have 750 to spend so I am trying to get the best setup I can for my buck. I am going to be getting everything from HTG supply and pick it up at the store so no shipping cost. Plus the guy said He can get me 10% off and no sales tax because I am ordering it online but picking it up in the store =) the 4x2 flood tables are 55 but the 4x4 are 150 go figure. So What would you do in my situation I need a fan and filter I figured the $200 combo would work. I have 750 to spend on lights fans filter and the hydro setup what way would every 1 go. I have 1 dutch passion Blue berry mother and I orderd from http://www.bcgrown.50g.com/ 5-Purple Kush Fem, 5 my grape perp Fem, 5 Hash plant, 2 pinapple egg Fem, 2 white widdow Fem and some purple skunk. I was thinking 3 trays that are 4x4 with 25 plants in each veged for 2 weeks maybe less
