Hey guys. I need to come up with a way to water several plants outdoors while I'm gone. I was thinking water jugs on top of each container, or something like that. I don't have enough time to build a drip system with a res. up a hill. Any thoughts? What do you guys do? Normally I get my buddy but he is going with me...help:confused:

Its going to be extra hot the next few days...my plants are very big so they suck water like crazy. I say a day but I'll be gone 2 or so...just depends. I plan on watering heavy the morning I leave...so that'll last for a day and a half before thay getty really droopy. I don't know how the bottle thing would work anyway...it would be out by the end of they day....but that may be long enough. I may go get a drip manifold and rig up something quick..I have drippers and tubing..so I guess I have my answer...there is no quick fix. Thanks for the response guys, yeah I've seen those globe things, I just don't wana buy them...may as well by the manifold thing.

I would say just water heavier than usual before you leave and they should be fine. Just go check on them when you come back and if there droopy just go water them again.

Mine are in 5 gallon buckets and are about 3 1/2 to 4' tall. I had to go away for a week, When I came back they were droopy but came back upright 1/2 hour after I watered them.

Have a flash flood the morning you leave! I have one 6 1/2 or 7 foot tall. Left her for 3 days she was fine just like yours will be.They will be happy to see you when you get back besure to water them when you get back. Good luck

The whole problem is that they had severe stress from me burning the crap out of em with baking soda...and if I don't keep them watered I end up pulling bags of yellow leaves off...and I have a bit of mildew which seems worse after the lack of water as well. Its looking like I won't be gone for the full time so I think I am just going to flood them right before I leave.

I wouldnt worry about it at all. They'll just love the shit out of you when ya return. I'm of the opininon absence makes the heart grow fonder!!!!

What I mean is...........and its only my opinion,...... but providing they are already very healthy, if ya starve them a little every once and awhile they hunger hard when fed or watered afterward.

dude , I was in the same exact situation 2 years ago. I just watered them

more then usual , and their was dead grass all over the place , I just took

and covered the area , where the plant was growing. Or you can take

some green garbage bags , if you can find some , and cut that out and

cover the area with that. Either way your plants will be saved.

I hope they don't shrivel up man.

If you are that worried go to wal-mar and buy a cheap 20 gallon tub with a lid for 5 dollars and drill a 3/32 or 1/64 hole in it that will last quite awhile thats what I would do! If i was that worried that seams to be the best I could come up with. Oh you might want to put a tiny hole in the lid so it can get some air if not when it reaches a certain point it will stop letting water drip out...........
