What the author doesn't seem to realize is that there were more unemployed at the beginning of FDR's third term than there was at the beginning of his first term. So, with that in mind, did devaluating the currency by going off of the gold standard really impact the depression positively?

I agree. I wonder how much pot one cat eat to stay alive. I mean some of you think pot will be better than dollars for barter. I realize that to most pot smokers, everyone they know smokes pot so they must assume everyone does. The facts are less than 10% smoke on a regular basis, that leaves 90% that wouldn't trade you beans for pot. I think I'll go down and buy a couple a hundred lbs. of beans, 10-20 cannisters of LPG and a burner, some more ammo and bullet proof vests for my whole family. I wonder what human flesh tastes like, I'm sure there will be plenty of that around for meat to put in the pot, A good old juicy thigh ham, some flank (Butt) steaks, oh yeah and some Lea and Perrins steak sauce. Just call me Hannibal the cannibal,~LOL~.

I got the guns and ammo, the painkillers, Lortabs, Boil the water, hence the Lpg containers and the burner, Antibiotics, Just raid the local drug store, I'll fill the pool for water. If it gets too bad, I've got to head for my spot in the sheep mtns, a little spring.

Pot will also be good for bartering.
I'm going to learn to shoot this summer, I found someone who says they'll teach me how and how to clean guns and take care of them.
That's the thing I've been most worried about, owning a gun doesn't do any good if you can't work the damn thing..........

weapon cleaning is most important! Also a weapon with cheap ammo. A box of .40 cal shells is at least 18 dollars.Pot growers can transfer their setup into growing food products.

first I have to learn to do it. I'm not buying anything until I can use it with confidence. Yes that's why I said I need to learn cleaning, I know from TV that dirty guns jam, unless you are the star of the movie.....

Dirty weapons jam and can be inaccurate. Pro models take down easier to clean. When you get one make sure it can be taken down completely.

Ok, see now you're over my head already. Taken down completely, does that mean that is comes all the way apart? I don't know anything about guns other than I can point to a picture of one and say "that's a gun".

So some guns need tools to come apart? They never show that shit on the tv. I figured all of them just pop apart, or whatever you call it.
