I just helped put a drunk driver in jail... guy came into my lane, and onto my shoulder, making me go into opposing traffic... needless to say I wasn't happy... glad he's away for the night.

Fool can't drink and drive he shouldn't do it. Serves em right.

I was afraid he was going to ram me, I followed him into a crappy neighborhood, he's going off into ditches and kicking up all kinds of dirt, then he backs up into a driveway and starts moving towards me so I had to slam it into reverse and back up... luckily he stops and just sits there. Deputy shows up 20 minutes later (only 3 deputies on shift in my area he said, and the other 2 were working a shooting) and he's still sitting there, lights on, truck running... middle of the road.

Guy was completely wasted and yeah, I'm sure as hell glad he almost hit me, the other people behind him just kept going... sure would've been nice of them to offer a supporting witness position, I don't understand why people don't care to follow up and actually follow drunk drivers until the police can arrive and take them down, it could be your son, your mother, whoever that gets hit and killed or their life turned upside down for who knows how long because they got hit by a drunk driver.

It's personal for me, I've had 3 friends killed by drunk drivers (big thing in Louisiana) and so yeah... if I'm bored and partly stoned (Visine... wondrous liquid!) I'll go out there and look for them, police can't be everywhere at every second as proven by the 20 minute response time, so I'm glad there are people like me who at least help out with a huge local problem that is drunk drivers.

I do have leniency, a little swerving is nothing major, but crossing lanes, especially into oncoming traffic is unforgivable and definitely something that would've kept me awake for days had I not called him in and had him arrested.

LOL I wouldn't have done it but glad you did. I would have hightailed my ass outta there. I might have done it if I was for some reason out driving and had nothing to do but never would I intently go out looking for drunk drivers.

Heh, I guess that's why I call it my personal thing, the last friend that died was real close to me and that's what pushed me to do it... I don't even wanna think about how many I've called in and followed over the years. Yes I've done my share of driving after drinking, but never to the point where I am putting someone else in a dangerous position. Those that do, watch out for me... at least in Louisiana ;)

This poor girl...

No BS on that one, Jacqueline Saburido is her name... and here's the link to her story.

I check back to bump the thread and find horrible stories... raise a glass to them.

And I just got done drunk driving, but I wasn't that buzzed... Only 15 blocks too... at 20 mph.
