try a hardier light schedule, 18/6 or 20/4, or your gonna have to support it with a stick brace
exactly what he said, because i had to do the same thing until mine got a lil bigger, i dont even have a fan with mine and the stem is getting fatter by the day and all i do is blow on the plant gently here an there

If it's just as seedlings than just bury the stem when you transplant. If it lasts through the whole grow then I would think it has to do with your light. I use MH for veg so my stocks tend to be pretty thick, but the fan should help. In the end mystified bongs is right, you can always stake it if you have to.

I think you might need your light to be closer, how far away is it now? Also purple is a mix of the red and blue spectrum, so you have two spectrums not three

need fans blowing on them to make them strong. use potassium silicate

edit: oh you have fan.. maybe stronger fan?

this. it does sound like more light is in order but a silica supplement WILL most certainly create stronger stems. it also makes a pretty badass ph up, too. it's way alkaline.

Big +1 on that.

Pro-Tekt from Dyna-Gro is what I use, but there are many to choose from.

Use sparingly, especially if you're the heavy handed type, like 1/4-1/2 TSP/gallon. It also helps build resistance to fungus/mold and insects.

its just like a baby, you have to give it some muscle before it can stand. just turn up your fan to blow on the stem a little or simply blow on it every now and then.

Do you have a fan? My stems are strong, strong, strong because I put my fan in with the seedlings on a low setting and as per someones advice on the forum, I keep moving it every so often so it blows at different angles, this way the plant gets stronger on all sides. If you dont have a fan, invest a little $$$ in one. I got mine for $10 or something.
