Weed Myths Or Facts?

i have been told that in early stages of a non-hydro plant (1-2 monthish) you can tell if your plant is male of female my the "stem to leaf"

if your plant at about 1-2 months old has many leafs and there is little stem between each set or row of leafs then it will most likely b a female plant, tho if your plant is growing tall with great amonts of stem between the sets of leafs then it is highly likely 2 b a male

i would like 2 kno if any1 knows if this is true or not or if its got something 2 do with the type of plant so i can seperate the plants if need be.

if it is just the type of plant should i seperate the differnt types of plants 2 diff areas in my yard?

thanx

Let's say you have 6 plants of the same strain in the same conditions, and you have one or two that are stretched and taller than the others, it's a good chance that you have males. Males tend to be programed for faster growth so they can release pollen above the female flowers lending to a much higher pollenation rate. But those 2 plants can be taking on the phenotype of either its mother or father. Your plants will pre-flower most likley when they are ready for reproduction, this will tell you for certain.

thanks cannaboss, also how long should it take for seeds to germinate?a friend told me that if the seed hasnt sprouted in 5 days it wont grow at all, despite his information i kept the seed leaving it to germinate for a month, it sprouted roots and i let another friend grow it for me it grew 1 meter high before my dog trampled it, tho it was ready 2 be choped. it wasnt the most poteint but id rate it a 6 in the non-hydro catagory. all my other seeds have been ready to plant within 4 days, is it a good sighn if they spout roots from the seed fast or slow if i want a potent plant?

I've had sprouts that took almost 1.5 weeks to sprout. Still grew.

And potency depends on strain, conditions, and how well you take care of it.

I actually had 4 plants from bagseeds, and one sativa dominate i would say, it grew up so fast, while one showed its pistils (so that was ok) and the other 2 were growing pretty much the same as the 2nd one, so i told my friend (he said to pull the taller one) Heck no! I had indeed read that no matter how it grows (unless you really been growing that strain for many different harvests, and know how that particular breed acts) you cant tell ahead of time, a male from female you just have to let it grow, as stated by preveous members, until you see the pistils, or the other little sacks(male) sometimes this may take into bloom the sex will then be forced to show, (always clone before bloom) Ok from my 4 plants the one being female the ones 3 and 4 were males, and actually the tall fast growing one was female :P tongue out to my friend who wont be getting any! Cant WAIT just around 4 weeks in now, so maybe 4-7weeks for any of the individuals left!
