Weed smell, is it legal?

When I went to the local supply they were out of carbon filters. There was this in stock and so far no problem and I smoke. I don't even vent external here. Sounds like your place might be larger being a garage. Try it on timer when fan is on every other hour.
I have a ozone generator that I run in the garage after I harvest to kill any bugs. Then I don't enter it for at least 12hrs.

But be careful when using ozone, that stuff damages your lungs and could kill you if inhaled at certain doses.

In Ontario the police will not come for a weed smell complaint. EVERY household is 4 plant legal and many of us have med scripts with larger counts.

When i first moved in my neighbor asked me to not smoke so much weed on the weekends outside if that was ok...so i said go fuck yourself...i had to repeat it, he was a little taken aback.

I do enjoy smoking a big fat doob outside more than ever before now.

My grow rooms exhaust on his patio screen door...he is lucky i use a filter at all.

He has no recourse. What can he do call the plant counters??? Sorry this is not a good time can you come back next week...

my neighbor and i dont talk...and im ok with that. He got his wish today its too damned cold to smoke outside.

If you are not legal mitigate risk as much as possible.

The only thing I want to do with my life is illegal in my country :/
You can grow indoors easily without anyone noticing. At least half of the people in this forum are probably growing illegally, but that does NOT mean it's unethical because marijuana is part of Nature and God's creation. It only became illegal so tobacco and alcohol companies can profit. If you want to grow, you can do it even in your country unless you want to open a legit cannabis business. That's not happening...yet. Some of the things I like are also illegal but I keep doing them, without of course involving other people. Keep your head up!

The room isn't the main problem it's the rest of the garage where I trim, dry, cure. The smell leaks out and you can smell it when you pass by it. I would need another exhaust system, plus an air tight seal for the entire garage but that's a lot of investment for 4 plants.

This isn't like Leamington, Ontario where you can smell weed kilometers away. It's a faint smell that my neighbor has picked up on and he is OCD about it.
Nice grow. I'm Canadian too and I remember when they first started to put the cannabis shops in the liquor stores. I saw on the news that the people buying booze were complaining about the smell of cannabis in the stores. The government told them "too bad". That's what your neighbor has to come to grips with. You're not doing anything wrong.
I'm not in a city and I can walk down the street smoking a joint just like I could with a cigarette. Your neighbor needs to get with the times.

Liquor stores with weed in them? ....Not here in Ontario they aren't.
Anyway I BOYCOTT all 3 of those skanky businesses (beer, booze and weed stores) and will never give them a dime.
I do my best to make sure the government gets as little of my money as possible. Not completely possible but at least I try.

I'm with you on all those points. I tried the govt weed and I'm glad I did though; it's not better than my own homegrown, in my opinion anyway. Plus they hit it with gamma radiation to kill mold and mildew so who needs that!

I worked at a greenhouse for a major Canadian supplier and ill tell you why the quality isn't that good.

First was everything got harvested at 8 weeks. Sativa, hybrids, everything.

Second was the quick dry time and quick cure times.

Third was the trim jobs were by machine or foreign workers doing it as fast as possible. Main reason I believe why you cant see the bud before you buy it, because of the high leaf ratio to bud.

Fourth was the use of cheap synthetic nutes. They work but barebones NPK.

And Fifth like you said was the irradiation treatment to keep mold down at the expense of potency and quality.

All these short cuts were to keep costs down and investors happy.

We use to nickname it the "Laker Lager" of weed.

It's been in there several months now. The timer runs 1/2 hr every two hr. The whole set up is in a separate room. I get a whiff but it disappears. You're right, running it too long is bad. It purifies the air of pathogens as well. Stinks otherwise.

Thanks for the input. Lots of reasons to stay away from the govt stuff in your post.

It's just mass-produced with keeping investors happy as the top priority. It's a business model made for cutting as many corners as to turn the biggest profit.

I'm waiting for them to make it legal for private shops to grow and sell their own product. Kind of like how microbreweries make and sell their own product. It would be neat to see a shop like that where you can see the grow behind the counter, like a big indoor grow behind glass. Have jars where you can see and smell the product. If this wasn't lockdown, make it a fun place for adults to hang out, play games and use a vape lounge. The government stores that I have been to also lack an atmosphere, even before covid, like you're at a Service Canada building but buying weed.

This happened in my old neighborhood a few years ago..

Long story short, there was a long standing dispute between neighbors (I think it had something to do with their barking dog), so one neighbor went across the street to the other neighbor's house, shot the dog, then shot the mom, and went back to his house and barricaded himself inside. The cops finally got him to come out after hours long standoff. The dude was clearly mentally unstable.

Point is you might be in the right, but no need to piss off the neighbor's when there may be a better way.

That is a good point. Not everyone reacts to stress well.
