A cold root zone can slow growth to virtually zero.what would heating the roots do?
What wattage should I be using?Too small wattage lights for proper plant growth......
23-26 through the whole stage or change to higher wattage when flowering?I would use at least 23-26 watt cfls. The 12s are just to small and the 20 on the verge of being too small....
But wouldnt 2 or 4 26w cfl's be enough for flowering? Im on a tight budgetI would go HID for flowering. Using enough cfls to properly flower can produce more heat and hassles than just getting a 250 or 400 watt HID...
They will work but I am sure you will be dissapointed with the results. But wouldnt 2 or 4 26w cfl's be enough for flowering? Im on a tight budget
I might try 4-6 and see what happensThey will work but I am sure you will be dissapointed with the results.
So how do people get great results with 26w cfl's? Ive seen some decent grows on the net with themNo matter how many 26 watt cfls you add you still are only supplying the plant with less than 2000 lumens, just not enough to properly flower.
Ooh ok, I havent got the money for HID at the moment so my 4x 23w=90w cfl's will have to doI never said they wouldnt work. But dont expect tight fat buds and a big yield. Light, fluffy buds is all you can expect. Also plan on 2 to 3 weeks more flowering time for them to finish compared to HID use.
I've done about 5 CFL grows so far and I've never had extra time added on to the life of the plant. Mind you I have in fact grown the same strain under HID and CFL. Granted the buds are thin and wispy with the CFL's yet dense and rock hard with my HID. You can finish with CFL's just fine especially if it's for your personal stash. My first grow was a single bagseed female that was grown in Fox Farms Ocean Forest in small 3/4 gallon containers under 3 X 26 watt CFL lights and I ended up yielding just under an ounce of primo bud. No nutes, no ph checks, just water it and leave it. To be honest I expected a quarter or less, needless to say CFL lighting has surprised the hell out of me in a positive way.I never said they wouldnt work. Ive just changed my lighting setup to 2x 23w cfl and 1x 12w cfl over each plant, so thats 4x 23w and 2x 12w altogether, I was thinking about getting some 55w+ ones but will it be worth the money? You talking about the huge 55 true-watt bulbs? Yeah those are well worth it unless you are talking about 55 watt equivalent. As far as potency, I honestly didn't notice a difference in potency between buds grown under CFL and buds grown under HID. Your bud will be plenty potent, you just won't have as much bud as you would if you had flowered under an HID lighting system. Maybe had the bud been lab tested, it might have shown a THC/CBD/CBN different from HID but I personally couldn't notice the difference.Ive just changed my lighting setup to 2x 23w cfl and 1x 12w cfl over each plant, so thats 4x 23w and 2x 12w altogether, I was thinking about getting some 55w+ ones but will it be worth the money? I have also started using nutes today which are a tomato feeder high in nitrogen which ive heard is good for growing stage
Nah 55w true bulbs im not gonna get the equivalent, i cant seem to find anywhere that sells them cheap though in the ukYou talking about the huge 55 true-watt bulbs?
