wow, looks nice man 9 weeks is definitely tops for many types of chron. I have actually worked with some skunk before and it took closer to 8 weeks...but that was in hydro also. Anyways just remember to let i think 60-70% of the hairs wither/orange before you chop the beauty. Enjoy!

week 9 of 1212.today 024.jpg the pic of the harvested weed was from my second harvest. the stuff in the tub is for hash and the other i broke up too much, and also i chopped the plants too early.
so i dont wat this to happen to my next two sk#1. so looking at the pics, can anyone see that im doing anything wrong with the plants in the pics.
there 9week 12/12 in soil under 400 hps. these will be my last big plants till summer cos i dont have the lites or space to grow them that big after this grow.im going sog with my next grows. 3 plants every 3 weeks . so hopfully ill get a harvest every 3 weeks or so. i can grow ok, but im not that good with the end bit, knowing when there ready, harvesting curing, but for now, all i need/want to know is how long left, by the look of my pics?. and do the plants look ok in the pics. thanks.

at 9 weeks with just this one beast under the 400 it should be ABOUT ready if not done. Here is how I tell when the time is prime for chopping:

-1st go to radioshack or other mas producer of plastic products. Buy a 15x microscope/magnifiying glass to view your tricromes. Take a look at ur little trihomeboys and note their structure and color. Withered tricromes will move from a completely transparent rigid structure to a withered looking opaque structure. It will be easy to tell the difference if you have another younger plant going on that you can compare.

-next be sure that around 60-70% of your pistils are withering/oranging

-Another hint that its time to chop is that your lady will start killing off its fan leaves. At the end of a flowering cycle the fan leaves will start to yellow slowly, like the ones on the bottom that die without light. Make sure that your judging this one from the top of your plant beacuse those are the ones that ARE receiving light.

It is hard to tell much from your pictures about the pistil coloration, but it doesn't quite look like your having any fan leaves start to drop. Remember it wouldnt quite hurt for you to chop it whenever you want to, it will only affect the smoke minorly and at this point you wont be putting on much more weight on ur lady. Looks good partna -chief

yea, just my uneducated opinion, but i would give it atleast 1 1/2-2 weeks and then start your flush for a week, but that's just me.

they havent even really started to turn orange yet, have the hairs, do sk#1 hairs turn orange?. the hairs on the top cola are a bit brownish cos they got too near the lite one day this week, the rest of the plants buds are all white.

yo, yeah orange is kinda a general color that most turn when they reach maturity. Of course their are exceptions like white widow, which I have harvested with about 25% orange hair. I believe its a fact that all plants no matter what genetics will still get the orange/brown/sometimes freaky colors like pink and purple hairs. This is because they are withering and not necessarily maturing. If you only see the color changing where you burnt the plant, yeah you probably need another week or 2. Keep up the good stuff

anyone know if skunk matures to any other tint besides orange? If not, keep in mind it would be rare if it turned another color besides brownish orange.

the one picture i could almost judge this stuff for u, but it's not focused enough to tell. Be sure not to mistake your fanleave light burn for a leaf that is completely dying due to plant full maturity. If you put a tiny force on a fan leave that is trying to fall off it will do so.

I don't know anything about any of the strains but it makes sense to me. I have always grown unknowns and this year had the opportunity to view my outdoor grow up close.
I've never really known when to harvest properly and really had a difficult time this year with one of mine.(outdoors)

It started flowering about the 2nd week of August and I waited and waited for the brown hairs but they just never came. :wall::wall: I live in Canada so the weather was getting colder and colder and we had about 3 weeks of rain.

I ended up cutting branches off within a 2 week period and it seemed like the plant just went dormant.

Do you think this is the case? I probably should have just chopped the entire thing down when it smells the best and when the buds were the stickiest 'cause I didn't have one of those magnifying glasses to view in up close.
