Welcome to the afterlife!

Yeah, we got 12 months yet.
Dec. 21, 2012 is supposedly the date.

Most people got it wrong though.
It's not going to be the end of the world,
it's supposed to be the end of the world as we know it.

IDK, but there's lotsa things happening all at the same time over the next year that can affect us in bad ways.
Personally, I'd love to see the planet knocked back to what it was several hundred years ago.
The planet is over-populated with humans and it's getting worse every year.
All our natural resources are running out. We're out of balance.
The killing off, through natural disaster, of he vast majority of the population is a good thing, imo.

Several hundred year ago...

No screw on lids.
No toilet paper.
No cars.
No running water.
No indoor plumbing too.
No snow plows.
No jetskis.
No microwaves.
No internet.
NO RIU
No BIRTH CONTROL.

No Birth Control really changes things - A LOT.

No screw on lids. it's 2012. There will still be lots if anything happens.
No toilet paper. That'll suck when it runs out, but we'll adapt.
No cars. GOOD!
No running water. ?? Sure there will be. You'll just have to pump it manually like in the 1800's and early 1900's.
No indoor plumbing too. Yes and no. sinks, yes. but I'd have an outhouse for you know what.
No snow plows. That's OK.
No jetskis. That's OK. Use a surfboard.
No microwaves. Everything tastes better cooked over a flame.
No internet. That's fine.
NO RIU That's OK too.
No BIRTH CONTROL. I'm sure there's things that can be found to use.

No Birth Control really changes things - A LOT. I agree, but non perishable items should be acquirable for quite a while after anything happens.

Initially for the first couple weeks for some, longer for others, it'll be tough.
Given time though, the strong will adapt.

Geez, Louise! I don't enjoy working that hard. I like electricity and everything that it does. I guess I'll have to protect my generator from Solar Flares and envious hooligans.

Oh, and I'll have to stock up on ammo, too.

That's assuming that I'm not one of them killed off.

Trust me, I truly enjoy the modern day luxuries but I could live without cars, cell phones and computers pretty easily.
The rest might be a challenge.
It'll be tough for me to kill my own food instead of going to the store, but I'd adapt.
As for growing food, I've been vegetable gardening since I was a kid.
Electricity, should anything happen, I have covered too.
I already have a gas powered generator that I could easily adapt to be powered by a water wheel.

To me, electricity is the BIGGIE.
With it, you have power.

I'm sure that's a sign in a Chinatown dispensary forbidding employees from trysting on the inventory. cn
