Thanks everyone for all of the interest shown, and for the great advice given! I've been meaning to give a little update on the plant for a while now, but I've just been so busy with work and life in general that it's been hard to find the time. ...winter in the mountains is a very real thing, and it takes preparation.

I'm happy to report that the plant has been on a solid 12/12 schedule under two 100watt leds for almost the past two weeks, and is showing signs of vigorous flower growth. Although the light setup that I bought is less than ideal for my long term gardening goals, it seems to be working well for the one plant, and I'm hoping that I can use the lights in conjunction with a more serious light setup in the future. I'm viewing this more as an emergency setup so that I may at least get some yeild out of the plant, and I'll go back to the drawing board to rethink my grow room design when this plant reaches the end of its life cycle.

A couple of questions -- but first a couple of photos: 20171017_161642.png Screenshot_20171017-161326.png Screenshot_20171017-161400.png

Questions:
Because the plant has been topped twice and lst'd, and now has about 30 colas, should I expect the tops to remain quite small in full maturity? Or does each cola have the potential to pack on some significant weight?

Also, the plant is about 4 weeks from the time that it's first shown signs of flowering, and many of the stigmas have turned orange in many areas. Doesn't this seem a bit early to you?

And now for the obligatory dumb question of... *drumroll*... would you say that I have about a month left before harvesting? I know...

I've decided to keep lower pruning to a minimum, so that in the future, if I do decide to prune lower branches and leaves, I'll have a reference point. I find with plants that it's better to experiment with them to gain first hand knowledge, rather than do just what people say, even when they may very well be right.

Anyway, there's a little update. And I'm very excited to transform my 15'×15' space into a dedicated grow room when this plant is complete. Thanks for any answers that you may have :)

First Q is a tricky one to answer. I suppose it depends on what you call small. You can indeed get donkey dick colas from topped plants. The colas tend to really pack on weight in the last few weeks.

Orange stigmas a month in are not unusual. So no.

It'll be ready when its ready... .a ball park yes around 4 weeks to 6 depending on lots of stuff.

Good to know! Thanks, Lucky Luke. My concern was that it was reaching maturity without the buds gaining much in size. Looking at the buds grow is a bit like watching a kettle boil

I hear ya. I found taking a pic every two weeks keeps things in perspective. You may think nothing much has happened but when you cycle the pics back and forth there is usually a significant difference.

Calyx barely visible in your pics so she has not swollen yet. She will fatten up.

What's going on with your fan leaves? Weird white spots that don't look like trichs.

@Lucky Luke, that's exactly what I've been doing. Taking photos even few days to look at and thinking to myself "is there any difference? Well.. I guess this one looks a bit bigger? Yes, yes! It's slightly bigger than it was 4 days ago!"

@Bugeye, good eye. I was ripping a huge log in half with a chainsaw in my yard, and somehow tiny particles of wood dust made it all the way inside and onto the plant. I was thinking of gently blowing the plant off with a leaf blower at some point.

I find it difficult to see much difference in my plants when I'm checking them daily/every couple of days. But my girlfriend sees noticeable growth because she only sees them couple of times a week. It can be frustrating to think they aren't growing much, but trust me they will be!

Checking the trichs will give you a better idea of when to harvest, it's difficult to tell when it's ready just by looking at the pistils. Depending on what effect you want from your smoke, about 10% amber, 80% cloudy 10% clear, is about standard. (I'll probably catch a load of shit for those number on here haha)

In regards to a more permanent LED for future grows, have a word with @CobKits on here and they'll certainly be able to help.

my meizhi 600w has been working for 7 months, cheap light lol
I have a Meizhi 600w too, but for power consumption, spectrum and longevity they aren't a great investment. I'm not saying they don't work, you can certainly grow with them.

I'm hoping to get a couple of years out of mine, but by then I will have upgraded to more quantum boards or cobs anyway.
