I didnt water my plants for 9 days one time (drip system was a bust) and they rebounded like crazy

yea..im better off making a few gallon drum into a drip system so atleast it would take a day to get them watered and by then i would be on the road and would gain me some extra time. i think i can make 3 gallons take 2 days to drip out possibly..im not sure but i know there are slow drip heads you can buy that drip every second or so....ill test it out

I just got back from being away for 10 days without watering. I'm growing with buckets, and I had holes drilled in the bottoms for drainage.
-I just used 10 new buckets, and filled them each with 2 1/2 gallons of water.
-I put the buckets with plants and drilled holes, into the regular buckets with 2 1/2 gallons of water.
-also watered a few gallons on top like normal, trapping that water in between the 2 1/2 gallons that's already in there.
-put a very thick layer of wood mulch down on top of the soil in the bucket, providing a moisture barrier.
-to top it off, I set 1 gallon milk jugs of water on top of the wood mulch in the buckets, and pricked a pin hole in the sides at the bottom. Water trickled out of that for about 5-6 days.
When I got back on Friday, and examined the root ball of a plant I harvested, I noticed that it was still moist 2/3 up the root/soil ball.
All that did the job.
It was sunny and in the mid to low 90s (not a drop of rain) every single day.
Check out my signature at the bottom to get an idea of what it looks like. I'll have new pics on Monday (well, and later today about the buds I've already harvested).

thats lagit man. I went wrong with small pots and assuming it wasnt going to be hot as hell here where i live and being shown how wrong i was when my buddy called me up and was like yea its 105* right now buddy..i was like shiiiit
Next year i think i want to do eco earth buckets...any one tried this out

When starting a grow, I'm always aware that these are "living life forms" that I've taken responsibility for.
Much like my "children", I wouldn't consider "taking a vacation" and leaving the "kids" behind, thinking they'll be just fine. "What the hell?, I left the freezer full, they'll be just FINE". Yeah.....Right!.......LOL..............BB

I had to leave for work, not to go surfing and jackin around like I want to do.
Sometimes life gives people obstacles when growing that force them to do adapt, and luckily, I was able to make it through without too much problem.
If I had my druthers, I wouldn't have left.
It's actually easier to find more responsible people to watch our children than it is to watch our plants when we have to unexpectedly leave for a period of time.

That's a good idea to live by...its hard though cause with plants you have some sort of buffer zone with them. I water every 4 days sometimes just so that I dont make myself to noticeable when i water..too often might get me busted.
I need a garden where i can have an auto sprinkler situation but right now i neither have the house or land to do such so i am left to walk a few yards to my hidden garden to water them with my 4 gallons of water in which i back pack in. its a pain in my ass but when i see the stoney faces on my friends after a few hits its going to be all the more worth it i guarantee that.
I have had good luck with potency but height and weight isnt really something i have mastered yet unfortnately...i guess taste and quality supersedes height and weight right ?

I agree, but some of us have jobs that take us out of town unexpectedly. So I'd rather grow and risk a little underwatering than not grow my meds at all, and buy from a club.

I want to grow and own my own club..probly a bad idea since the DEA are assholes and raid you whether your lagit or not and whether or not you fallow the rules to the T....maybe I should just be a care taker...any ideas

Listen to this guy.
I've been watering daily or every other day for many years. Wilting due to a shortage of moisture doesn't happen my garden, because any wilting is bad. It retards growth and bud development.
Just remember, my methods require excellent drainage(everything is in raised beds).

i live in the desert lol...i would have to dig 50 feet to hit natural water lol...definately not worth my time and effort, I would rather buy 10 hoses and run them from my house all the way to my spot before i went and dug anything ha ha...that would be a funny sight
