We're chamber pipes around in the 70s?

Did they have metal chamber pipes in the 70s? My girlfriends mom gave us her old chamber pipe and said it was from the 70s but I didn't think they used chamber pipes back then, I thought it was just joints and those cool looking ceramic bongs. Also a little history from older smokers on what was choice for smoking back then would be great :bigjoint:

It was brick weed back then, with tons and tons of seeds. You had to clean your weed on an album cover (preferred method), magazine, or kitchen colander. I remember coughing a lot. G Graphics bongs of Milwaukee were the best. Joints and pipes too. Lots of keg and weed parties back in high school in the early 80s.

Bongs, pipes, joints and acid. My neck of the woods in the 70's plastic bongs.
Corn pipes when you were young. Joints, my friend walked around school with a brown lunch bag filled with joints. Could always find him by the handball court.
We had a woods by the school always muddy, nickname Zappa.
Everybody who was a stoner had mud under their desks.

Are you talking about those pipes that unscrewed and put a bud in,then smoked thru the bowl,pulling the smoke by the bud in the chamber.?Used to smoke out of those a lot.Problem was the bud would get full of black resin,then it wouldn't stay lit,plus it tasted crappy.

Then when it plugged, or yer supply ran low, we'd pull the shit out of the chamber and smoke that. Tasted like dog shit, but it would get ya SOME fuckin' high..
