The Marion is harvested and drying. What a relief to be done with it. It was just such a stretchy nightmare. A lot of that round is going to be turned into bubble. Way over vegged it for how stretchy it was.

My new Meanwell driver got here today and the light is fixed so now all my flowering plants are in their final homes. I also up potted the round on deck. Very excited for what's to come.

So here's what we have in flower...

Blue Dream 21 days in looking very nice. Under two RW-75s. Loving how they filled the net out. I have plenty of room up high and the canopy is even and close to what I was shootin for. Next time they'll get a little more veg but other than that they're looking very good.

Here's the gorilla glue under the vero 29s. And the little net with the mob boss and Goji OG under the single rw 75. All of these are 14 days in

Glue. Not as even and clean as the dream net but that's ok. Looking very healthy

Here is the Cherry Pie and Gorilla Glue up potted today to start their veg for next round

Gorilla Glue 4 weeks in. It stretched like crazy from week 2 to 3. A lot more than I remember the last time I ran it. I'm thinking the growth under the 3000k vero is different than when they're under the area 51s. Looks good though.

Im straped in. Vey well executed.. That marion berry is some serious dank... gonna have to get my hands on that..

Almost caught up.. on pg.3..
Welcome aboard sir. Thank you for the kind words. I feel like my system has changed every round. I don't mind though because it's usually due to expanding. I'm definitely going to be expanding my flower area to the open room probably by the end of the summer. The basic plan is to flip flop my veg and flower areas. I'll probably get one or two thousand watt hoods, a big fan/filter, and use poly to wall it off completely. After a successful round or two I want to replace the hps bulbs with led. This is all long term thinking. I'll still run at least this round plus one or two more with the current setup.

That marion is pretty good but I have a feeling there's some much better phenos to find. With time I'll end up popping the rest of my beans. That's another thing I'm going to be doing...I'll eventually be running full crops of a single strain with an area reserved for popping seeds and growing out different varieties for head stash.

I'll have to look into the orca film, thanks. I use a combination of BioBizz nutrients and some General Organics additives. I also use molasses and sometimes i top dress with guano. I usually rarely need to feed much while in veg. I'll hit them with some bioweed, bioroot, humic acid, cal/mag etc but my soil is about a 2:1 mixture of Ocean Forest:Happy Frog so the soil can take them pretty far by itself. I really start to amp up the feedings about the second week of flower and ive noticed that my plants under the RW-75s tend to show more calcium deficiencies so ive been trying to hit them with a little more cal/mag once they go into flower. My feeding depends on strain, age, lighting etc. I write everything down but I don't stick to a strict schedule. some strains i go feed, feed, water...some get feed, water, feed...others get feed, feed, feed! Very dependant as I'm sure you know.

I'll be checking out your journey shortly here. Thanks again for swingin through and feel free to ask anymore questions

So I just did my first ever run of bubble hash. It's still sitting out drying but as of now I am so fuckin stoked. Did a small run of 125 grams. It was 45g of dry marion nug, 68g of dry marion trim, and 57g of a dry mix of trim...most of which was old jedi kush trim. Again this is my first run of bubble so I have nothing to compare it to but through pictures my buddy said he never gets multiple runs to yield so much. He thinks its the LEDs, which he doesnt use. I tend to think it has more to do with the strain but who knows.

20150531_220706_resized.jpg

So the row nearest the camera is the first run. Each row above it is the next run. So I ran the same water 5 times. Left to right is 160, 110, 73, 45, then 25.

Would love some input from @hyroot What do you think? My buddy has told me what he thinks I should do next with it. What would you recommend?

Looks good. Led's of course. But marrionberry is a hash strain for sure. Produces blankets of trichomes. Check out any strain from exotic genetix or sin city. They're frost monsters.

Anyway. Let it dry for 12-24 hours. Try and keep it as cool.as possible. Pro hash makers have dedicated rooms with a controlled environment 50° 40% RH..

After its dried some (not completely). You still want a little moisture. Other wise it will crumble up if too dry for the next step.

Place pucks in the freezer for 1-2 hours. Put tools in the freezer too. Always want the tools cold. Microplane and sieve (mesh ladle).

WP_20150125_01_02_26_Pro.jpg

Then grate them with a microplane ( best quality and doesn't dull for a long time) over raw parchment paper on a baking sheet.

This creates more surface area allowing all the trichomes to dry completely at an even rate. Properly dried hash is very important to the quality.

WP_20150125_23_38_36_Pro.jpg

Then keep in a cold / dry area and dry for 5 -7 days . You can run the "beach sand' through your fingers and feel how dry they are..

After its all dry, then jar up and shake and then sieve

WP_20150129_20_30_26_Pro.jpg

Then jar up and cure. Store in a cold dry place. if properly dried. it will stay in granular form. when you see gooey / sappy bubble, its still wet. No good.

Properly dried

also the lower quality hash dont throw away. You can make rosin with the 25, 45, 160, 190. Keep the other screens as ice wax / bubble. 73, 90, 120 are the only screens that produce 6 star full melt. The 45 is 4 star 3/4 melt the others are 2-3 star. That cam be made into 5-6 star full melt solventless shatter / rosin.

Ha dude thank you so much for the very informative, and very quick response. Your method is a little more involved than my buddies...he recommended I chop it very fine with a razor and let it dry that way on cardboard. Then he had a method for pressing it. What will the difference in hash be like if I do it that way? Also explain the sieve. What is this doing. I would also love to hear your method for pressing it into slabs

pressed you'll cure for at least 2 months. Frenchy Canolli style. ... I've never made as good pressed hash as I have with ice wax. Plus I like dabbing. It takes a while til the pressed hash is full melt.

long cured presses hash has a great flavor. Both taste great though.

ice wax goes for 2-3 times the price of pressed hash.

ice wax can be smoked right away. Best after a 7 day cure.

the sieve makes it more beach sand consistency. Bed bath and beyond has the best prices on those. William Sonoma has the best prices on microplanes.

How are you doing the actual pressing of it into slabs

sorry took me a while to find the right ep. skip to 36:00 Matt Rize shows sub how to press ice wax into a dab.

thanks for your help brother. ill be back to update on the turn out. just did a first run of the fresh frozen...doesn't look like the yield will be anywhere close to the dry. but there were a few differences between the two batches besides being fresh and dry
