What Am I Doing Wrong? My Last Chance....

They just started showing yellowing on the tips of the leaves. I'm thinking it's just overwatering or some deficiency. I've been giving them 300 max ppm solution so I don't think it's nute burn. I just want an opinion from someone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks folks.

Also, is there any hope of saving them? My experience is that if they start turning yellow those leaves are done for, but they also have sprouts so some of them will be alright if they do fall off.

I would'nt be giving plants this young any nutes at all. Plain old water is all they need at the moment. I use tap water which is just fine for me as I get good quality water, so if your water is good, just PH the water and give it that. Overwatering should'nt cause yellowing, overwatering makes plants sag. As for nut deficientcy, not this young. What is the PH of the water your using ?

These girls are about 3 weeks old and the Ph is between 5.5 and 6.

Well your PH is ok and I still think 3 weeks is to young for nutes. I would wait until the second set of leaves has grown through then you know they have developed well to handle (personnel preference). They do look a little stretched, what light are you using and how far is it from the plant ?

If you're adding nutrients they can adjust the pH of the water. Get rid of the nutes and keep the pH closer to 6...keep em under 24/7 lights and keep the lights nice and close. water them every couple days unless they're kept in a hot area in which case you'll need to water them more frequently. I had a lot of luck with the AgroSun full spectrum tubes. Make sure your light spectrum is nice and BLUE. If they are having trouble setting roots you can always try a rooting hormone, but I like to dilute mine to about 1/4 strength.

BTW are you keeping them under a dome? They need lots of humidity. I would take em outa the hydroton and just spray the rockwool and the dome as needed. Once they look healthy and have some roots popping out then plan on putting them back into the hydroton. I like to keep a little bit of water in the gaps at the bottom of the tray and poke small holes in the top of my dome...just one or two to help regulate the humidity. This worked wonders for my little seedlings.

I think it's definitely a little overwatering, its just so easy to overwater and not notice. Do you have runoff holes in the bottom of the pots?

Theres a picture of the overwatering burn that I had with my plants.

They're in 2 separate pots now.

I do have them in a humidity dome, it stays quite humid in there on it's own. I'll definitely keep them off the nutes and watch how much I'm watering. I like the idea about poking some holes in the lid to regulate the humidity. Thanks for the help folks and I'll keep everyone posted as to my progress.

Well considering I'm not growing in soil I have net pots. So I guess you could say I have runoff holes.

I'm growing under a 600W MH that is about 12" away from the tops of the plants.

Thats a lot of intense lighting for such young plants, mite be an idea to put a difuser between the light and plants till they mature a bit. Such intense light can kill younguns. Look at propagator lights, generally CFL as its a softer light for the little ones.
