What are the best germination methods you know? (HELP?!)

I'm a first time grower and I have been trying to germ 2 seeds for 3 days now using the paper towel method and nothing has happened yet i heard that it takes 24-72 hours for the taproot to sprout. I have done the test where you drop the seeds in a cup of water and if they sink there good and if they float there shit and both sank straight away which is good.

but does anyone know any other germ methods? or is it to late for me to start a new method?

(right now they are in between to paper towels on a plate with a bowl over the top of it in a drawer)

edit: ok i changed there position until i get a few more answers, there sitting under a heater vent at about 25 degrees celcius i think thats about 70 f, its still in the paper towel and on the plate with the bowl covering it. good or bad idea? anyone? i have a plant in the same place aswell that has a tiny green sprout coming through but i dont know if its marijuana weed or just shitty garden weed.

paper towel, has always been my method. you could put them straight in to the soil. no more than a half inch down. that always works for me to.

yeah paper towl but i get a very high percentage with root riot cubes

make sure to keep the paper towel really wet. High humidity is the key. I do the paper towel method and I get really good results but I have just dropped seeds in a bottle of water and let them sit in there until the popped then planted them.

Are you sure you have good seeds? Some just won't pop, could be because they're immature or dead, or there shell and coatings are just too tough right now. Are you giving them any heat? Some use this method on top their monitor or a heating blanket, just make sure its not too warm. There are plenty of other methods, but they start to get complicated and involve purchasing a bunch of crap you don't have already. I've read before of people very gently cracking the outer shell, or somehow removing the outermost coating, but you should stick with the warm and wet paper towel method for a couple more days.

I stick the wet paper towel and seeds inside it into a plastic bag, where they stay moist. i leave them in a desk drawer for as long as it takes.

i put the paper towel in a cd case and put it out in the sun for about 2 days works great for me

Easy way to do it is get some type of dish/cup that u can put a lid on. cd case work well take bout 2-3 pieces of paper towel lay it in the dish saturate the papertowel then put ur seeds on the paper towel and another set of paper towel on the seeds and saturated it again basicly ur just putting the seeds beetween two piece of paper towel. if u have good seeds they schould crack within a day or two no more then three days though

Damp should be the word used for the paper towel, from my experiences you get the paper towel wet but not wet enough its dripping water if you hung it in the air. Put it in a dark place that has a constant temp nothing to hot or cold though. (of course in a ziplock bag)

Ive had seeds not pop at all within a week. Sometimes when i give up on them i put them in dirt just for shits and giggles and some do eventually pop a couple weeks later.

Listen, Best Method With 100% Germ Rate For Me. Wet The Paper Towel, Squeeze Out Extra Water But Dont Overly Squeeze Everything, Wrap The Seed In It And Place It In A ZipLock Baggy, Check Back In 2 Days And You Got A Nice White Sprout I'm Sure You Can Replace A ZipLock Baggy For Anything AirTight, The Whole Point Of This, Is Too Not Let The Moisture Escape. I've Used A Jar With An Air Tight Lid As Well ..

wow my bad didn't read the questin lmao but yeah idk wuts up bro they schould of cracked make sure there always moist and the put the seeds in a cup test is not accurate I've had plenty of seeds that float and they did just fine

Ok i'll go with the baggie method if you say you get a 100% germ rate. should i just put them in a draw? or under a light/in the sun?

I Stick It In My Draw .. Room Temp Is Fine I Guess Cus Like I Said, I've Only Actually Germed About 15 Seeds But With All 100% Success... All At Different Times Tho LoL Not At Once.. So Its Pretty Error Proof If You Got Good Beans

Bro I'm havin sum trouble germinating the seeds I got from nirvana there so tiny so idk wuts up wit them I'm use the plastic bag way if no succes there then I'm gonna drop them in a cup of water till they crack that always seems to work with stuburn seeds
