I think this is a great learning experience for you as a new grower. There a several ways you could go about it. It is all up to you.
I would cut off and discard (in a garbage bag tied up and placed in garbage can or dumpster) the affected branches, (entire branches). Then I would bomb the room with a pyrethrum bomb and after that I would mist the plants with monterey insect spray and a beneficial bacteria that prevents mold and bud rot every three days until I was sure they were gone. I would continue the beneficial bacteria misting until harvest. A lot of times the spider mites will eat the plants where mold is because its softer and then more mold comes and that becomes the next problem....
At harvest I would wash all the buds. First wash in peroxide (1/3 peroxide mixed with 2/3 water), second wash 1tsp lemon juice, 1tsp baking soda 1 gallon warm water, then rinse in cool water and rinse in cool water one last time. Shake off water, hang to dry in dark place. Sometimes if I dont have a lot of buds harvested I will towel dry them by blotting with paper towels then hang dry. You can find videos about wash methods online.
Another route you could go is to discard the plants bomb/ spray the area and grow tent and start over.
**A lot of emphasis on clearing out the spider mites before you plant again in that area.**
I just cant give up very easy on any plants, I think you can learn from this experience and you might be able to salvage some of the plant.
Spider mites can and will ruin plants, but on the other hand you can also treat them and you can prevent them.
Unfortunately you have an infestation that needs to be dealt with and there are other ways to deal with them. I have had a lot of luck just asking for advice at the Grow store or garden stores.
Good luck to you!
