What are These Things?

What are these things called that are sticking out of the corners of each node? Do they indicate the sex yet because they are not in the 12/12 cycle yet. I don't ever really remember seeing those things before except on a male or hermied plant.2011-05-17 17.57.07.jpg

They are stipules, sometimes called "spurs" and are on all mj plants. Not a sign of preflowers. The preflowers will show just above the stipules.
Peace!

Guess I stand corrected. I apologize, from my reading and information gathering I thought these were the preflowers. Sorry about that Nox.
