I'm right there with you dude. It's like we are the same being. The last one I enjoyed was Pump Up The Valuuum... I was disappointed with War On Errorism, and didn't buy any more after that...I haven't listened to them in a couple years. In fact now that i'm checking I haven't heard their last 2 albums. The last one I got was the war on errorism and that was like 7 years ago. How are their last 2 albums? I'ma go get em right now.
Dude, between the simpsons references and everything else you're describing, you could have grown up in my inner circle of friends. "So Long and Thanks For All The Shoes" is also AWESOME. I agree that their early work was unapproachable... too harsh for me. I think when War On Errorism came out I was just moving on by then and was more into other genres/styles.I didn't get into them until high school (1997-2001) so I got into their entire catalog at once. I thought there was only a few good songs on their first 3 albums, but white trash, punk in drublic, and pump up the valuum were mind blowing. The other albums were pretty good too. I hope these last 2 are at least as good as the war on errorism, which was also good. If it's as good as their other albums I will actually purchase the cd and support the band.
Obligatory pancake reference response:*UPDATE*
I no longer suck at making pancakes. I am now officially mediocre.
