gonna have a look at the 6 part British television drama series, River.

Hopefully it's better than the lackluster seppo shite I've watched recently, which has bolluxed me bloody melon.

Made me think of a great miniseries The River
totally different (this is a supernatural drama) but name made me think of it, and I enjoyed it a lot.

I am currently re-watching Jake 2.0 after re-watching Chuck... trying to decide which I like better (I like Jake 2.0 for a lot of what they did, but Chuck was great in a lot of other ways)

I really enjoyed The River (the british series). It's def not for everyone, but that is some of the best creative and somber television I've ever seen. I've had a lot of loss of loved ones, like most, and I really identified with it. The main character (police investigator) is exquisitely antisocial and cerebral, I found that special. I'd think most would find that 6 part miniseries, rather depressing.

Person of Interest... re-watching... great sort of spy/conspiracy action drama... bit of sci fi (AI)... very kind of... OMG this could really happen/be happening!!! Good characters, great development...

Hmmm I'm torn... I hate depressing... but I love the antisocial/cerebral hero (i can relate ;-))... and lost loves, well, again, hate depressing, but I can relate so that's... ugh... I'll have to try it at some point.

It's on Netflix. Dunno where else u would locate it. You may not find it depressing. Perhaps it's just the British flavor that one has to adjust to. There's a zinger within the first 15 minutes that caught me by surprise and reeled me in. I binged watched the entire thing this winter.

I am not against the British stiff upper lip or their humour... and as long as there's cleverness to be amused by, that will work for me....

Catching up on Preacher

Read the comics/graphic novel? How do you like it, in comparison? A lot of the changes threw me off a bit... that's me, I usually wish they would adapt the story more true to the original (especially when the changes don't seem to have a reason).

Independent from the source... I like the actors, and the characters... very believable. The style (kinda washed out colors and such) and the story didn't draw me in, though it got better for me after the first episode, and then not so much after the third... I haven't watched the more recent ones yet (7-8-9)... I'll go back and try it again though, if it ends up developing well.

I haven't read either, yet. I need to watch a few more episodes before I decide whether or not I want to keep following the show.

The... idk whatever you want to call hem... books, comics, graphic novel... are great. One of my faves of all time. I mean the very concept is really cool to me, the "faithless" man with the power of God (his Voice anyway) out to confront The Man himself about this shitty world... throw in a Irish vampire (that he's a cultural stereotype not with standing) and the Saint of Killers... epic.
