What can I do with that hay smell?

I cut down my crop 2 weeks ago it been hung and dried in 54/58% 18/19c, I bagged it a couple of days ago and when I open the bag now I'm getting that hay smell, it's nearly 2lb it's not going to fit in a jar, I also have to keep 6 bags separate until I test each of them, I've got a clone from each so its vital I don't mix them.
Any suggestions, thoughts or ideas?

It was flowered for nearly 90 days?
When it was hanging in the tent it was reeking, but sitting just now I can smell the hay smell :-(

Sounds like you are doing all right so far, I like using paper bags in transition to jars too. Just give it time, make sure your RH is good, you're moving the buds around in the bag and don't have them over stuffed. Also you should maybe get more jars now if you think they won't fit, you really don't want the jar packed tight when you're curing/burping.

Give it time, sometimes heady buds dont smell right until curing 1-2 weeks after dry. I like the bucket or tote method. Burp/aerate daily. Its an art, curing, so find your zone and run with it

Well oddly enough, the 1st bit dried my brother could smell it in my pocket, also I've a decent sized best dried bud in my tub and it smells great?

It still has that hay smell today but if I open the bud its a lovely aroma?

i think anything over 50% RH is too high

45%-50% works best - then trim it up after a week of hanging to dry, and if it still seems a little damp, put the buds in paper bags, no more than about a half lb in each paper bag - then close the bag up top and keep the humidity in the room at 50% - no more than that - and then burp the paper bag a couple times throughout the day and they should be ready to go in jars within a day or 2 depending on the moisture that particular strain seems to hold onto

also, if you're not already doing this, make sure you trim off all the big fan leaves when you're harvesting, otherwise, those fan leaves contain moisture and you can end up with some hay in the drying process

I've put them all into a bin except one I've put that in clear tub and left it on the table 22c, I've just checked it and there's a thin film of moisture on the clear lid, any thoughts guys and gals?

I think it was between the 24/26th of last month I cut and hung until a few days back with the dehumidifier on but also pulling fresh air to stop it getting to dry, however there's more moisture than I anticipated.

Invest in food grade 5 gal buckets and gamma lids.

Game changer for bigger crops

Do you have a hydrometer? Everything im hearing sounds as if its not fully dry.

Take a hydro meter and take some full buds then throw them in a jar. You dont need to jar it all to guage this. If its over 65% you know your issue.

I'd swapped the plants from my 1x1mtr to my 1.5mtr so I've put them in the empty 1x1mtr with the dehumidifier it's 18/20c 54/57% rh, I'll give them another 5/7 days and take from there with a hygrometer.
