What could have done this?

Any idea what insect did this to my plant? I only counted three leaves on the entire plant that had this sort of damage, and I just noticed it for the first time last night (the first time checking my plant since Friday). Is it spider mites?

What do you folks suggest for eradicating the foul beasts? Neem oil? Something else? The plant is still firmly in its veg state. Ideally I'd like some sort of spray I can spray on the plant. Doesn't have to be organic. Just has to be safe for my plant and I, but deadly to the insects. Thanks in advance for your help.

look around at the plants in the area, see if they show the same signs, this does look like some sort of insect bite.
i dont think its spider mites.

ya ive got some specs like this as well on mine just not so many. holes are all the way through so its not spider mites. gonna try and use the spider mite pepper spray on mine. got some sitting around i made a few weeks ago.

anyone one considered lighting on an intense day???
i get some holes like this indoor, i dropped my led lighting from 12 hours a day to 10 and am expieriencing better growth, could be some built up salts and lots of heat burning some holes through the leaf...

this is the case in my condition.

I really don't think it is an infestation of any sort, just intense light or passing by critters.

I doubt that it's from light. These leaves were taken from the "north" side of the plant, and the sun shines on the "south" side of the plant. In other words, I don't think these leaves even get direct light. But I suppose it's possible.

Thanks for the responses though, everyone. I'm encouraged by the fact that you guys don't think it's spider mites. Should i just spray some neem oil on the plant just to be safe?

if its not going to hurt the plant, its always to be safe then sorry... maybe i got some bugs in my tent!!!

If it is only three leaves on the northside of the plant then I don't think you have anything to worry about. It is not spider mites. If you spray insecticides on the plant you may do more harm than good. Without knowing what the actual problem is, the spray you choose to use could harm beneficial insects that you didn't know you had. Your plant looks very healthy so no need to panic and spray any poisons.

It's just holes that some bug has eaten out.

I've got the same thing on several of my plants. It doesn't seem to be too invasive. I think some kind of bug eating the leaves. Maybe grasshoppers or some kind of moth? Haven't been able to catch any of the critters in the act though so I don't know for sure. As long as its only a few leaves I can live with it. I've sprayed for spider mites, and the plants are clear of any bugs, so it must be some kind of bug that doesn't live on the leaves, just comes by for a bite and then goes away. If anybody figures it out it would be appreciated.

Perhaps small caterpillars...like right after they first hatch...or something like that...Definitely not spidermites though...they suck the green out of leaves, but leave the leaves whole.
