what determines type of high and what determines intensity, Strain vs Bud Ripeness???

What determines the type of high and what determines the intensity? Strain or Bud Ripeness, what determines what? I thought that the trichomes and their ripeness(bud ripeness) determined the type of high, milky white=head high, amber=couch lock, and the strain dictates ripeness meaning that you want your Sativas to have little to no amber trichomes, and your Indicas are ripe when the have amber trics, maybe 30%??? This question is more detailed than it sounds, someone got me mixed up on an earlier thread and I need some clearity on what Strain determines as far as type of high or intensity and what ripeness and its relationship to type of high and intensity. Rule of thumb is, indica is body, sativa is head.when u take early, its usually more head....peace

you can get a body high with sativa also not just indica

harvest by trichomes for the high you want

milky / cloudy trics for that uppity energetic head high

amber trics for that narcotic / couchlock high

and a 50/50 of both cloudy and amber gives you the best of both worlds lol

What he said. Something obvious: Strain plays the largest role. A White Widow at 25% THC will be much more intense then a mid grade at 5-10% THC.

Well isn't that a bit obvious??? of course a white widow with 25% would blow the socks off of a mid grade at 5-10%?

How about this, do you harvest sativas and indicas at the same point in ripeness or are you looking for different things in each strain before harvest? Also, If its the strain that gives you either a head high or zombie high, then how does that pertain to trichome color???? Do you want more CBN in indicas and more Thc in sativas or is the trichomes just letting you know they've hit thier potential and the strain designates what type of high it is????

I did say something obvious right ? You never know who you are dealing with here. Strain is your potency, and Sativas tend to be a perky high while Indicas tend to be a sleepy high. Pistils and Trichs are a way to judge the ripeness of your flowers. You can make a Indica a little less sleepy by harvesting early, when your trichs are all milky and you can make a sativa a little more sleepy by harvesting late when your trichs are mostly amber.
