What are you making?
I just finished a stand to hold a 4x4 post with a small anvil on it for small forming. But I used 6013 on that. Not liking 6013...can't see distinguish the puddle from the slag very well. Im just going to run the 5 pounds worth of 7018 beads to see how it runs, then move to 5 lbs of 6010. Stick is kicking my ass, gotta get beyond snot welds as soon as I can. I have an old school post vise that needs to be remounted, will do that after my welds get less snot-like.

Keep them in a dry warmer. will help a lot.
We used an old refridgerator with a 100w bulb that stayed on all the time.
is that a head of some kind?

Industrial Millwright, what do you need welded? lol
Mostly building and aligning Pump/motor stands, work platforms, haz waste incinerators repairs
Underground and cannery welding.

Don't need anything welded yet...I'm always curious about others metalworking experience, especially structural.....Industrial Milwright....Respect!

I can weld two pieces of dogshit together with 6013 rod. 6010 and 6011.
Tin foil to glass is my specialty though.
Really though, 6013 is usually the goto rod we use out on the job.
