What do ya think about swamp coolers??

A closet full of Cfl's and the temps go up to like 90 something with a cracked door and fans. Humidity was around 50 and after watering was 60. So i got a swamp cooler(evaporative cooler, portable ac) from Home Depot. The temps shot down to a constant 82/83, but the humidity is in the mid 70's, sometimes 80's.. The cooler is kinda big and had to be squeezed into a corner of the closet. So it blows kinda strong on the plants. Was this a fair trade off?? Can the plants flower properly in that kinda enviroment?

They work better if you have an open air source---if there in a closed room the humidity will climb and the effect of evaporated cooling will slow to a crawl -then your temps will climb-----not good--if you can open a door.
