What do you think about CAN and Prima Klima carbon filters?

Apparently the Rhino pro used to be one of the best filters out there but the quality has decreased over the last few years.

Theres many reviews of people saying they used to last for years but now they won't even last 1 grow for some people.

I bought the Carbo Air online from a shop in the Uk so I did have to pay the customs fees but it wasn't too expensive. They're supposed to be one of the best brands out right now.

Thanks, Ireland being in the EU is also a good option. Honestly i avoid ordering anything outside of EU because it would cost 35% more (VAT + customs) and i would have to wait much longer than usual when going through customs. Especially now during the pandemic all the shipping is slower.. Few months ago i ordered something from England, i waited almost a month and payed much more. And i'm a bit paranoid if growing equipment goes through customs :D

Do you have any local grow shops? If so You should check them out before buying online. They're usually more expensive than a lot of online shops but I like to support local businesses if the cost is reasonable.

I understand the paranoia but remember nothing you're buying is illegal. People do use grow lights and tents to grow vegetables also.

I would support a local business but unfortunately we don't have grow shops here. I live in a small city and we only have few small garden shops with flowers, potting soils and pots without any proper growing equipment :D
The country i live in is also small, we have maybe 5-6 grow shops in total where you can buy online from other cities. It's enough to buy everything you need, but they all have only Can and Prima Klima filters and the price is similar to Phresh or Mountain Air, so i figured it's better to buy higher quality for the same price.

And yes you're right about the paranoia, but still it's the peace of mind, less costs and less waiting time :)

I think maybe because I am just scrubbing the air it makes it last longer. I get 5-6 cycles out of my 150's. Also keep in mind it's a 5' tall filter. Beast weights like 150#... that's a lot of carbon to use up. In my case, size does matter I think.

yeah size clearly matters, the 900m3/h Rhino in my exhaust is only 23 inches long. I grow in very small scale.

I recommend trying a different brand. Like I said before, theres many reports of Rhino not being the same quality as a few years ago. You shouldn't need 2 filters to get rid of the smell.

I used the mountain air for I think 4 grows before I switched to a smaller tent and I still couldn't smell anything when I put my face right up to the exhaust duct.

I've also used CAN and Prima Klima, no difference. There are too many brands available, all of them have the same specs but apparently you can't trust any of them.

So you have never been able to completely control the smell even with a brand new filter?

I think it's more a problem with new growers who doesn't understand what filter fits with what fan. Filter should be double the specs of the fans CFM.

People bash everything without even having a clue of how they got there in the first place.

The consumer is most often blind and stupid I'm afraid, then they go about bashing without own knowledge or understanding.

I always run oversized filters. I've also been growing for 14 years with different types of setups.

Some smell always appears eventually, it's not always even straight weed smell, just sour filter smell. The only time the room is completely odourless is early veg.
