Spectrums on cfl's really don't matter until you get into more quality lighting. They can say whatever they want, but it's not going to make a quality difference either way. I run all 65 watters with circular cfl's in the center & they can say whatever pretty color they want; it all grows the same until you get into more advanced lighting :)

** just pay attention to the lumens & wattage per square foot & you'll be okay. Keep the lumens as high as possible & you may want to try lining the inside of the pc grow box with little 23 watters if you can make it fit. you'll be able to more efficiently control the heat, simply by turning one off, & not risk your plant's life

LED, HPS, etc ... CFL is the easiest and cheapest way to go. Also, it keeps your electric company from suspicion. I use cfl's all the time & I swear by them, but the lumens are low.

**LED lumens are very low, but they use a different type of lighting as to where it doesn't have a lacking effect.

A closet, DIY box, cabinet, options are endless. I decided to convert one of my refrigerators into a grow box just yesterday, finished this morning. I have a grow room readily available, and I also have a closet I can use to grow. I've found that the fridge is the best thing I've used so far. My temps have never been so spot on w/ a nice humidity range & the white reflects light like a heaven. You remember the 80's movies with bad special effects where you would see the fridge being opened and you're bombarded with light...yep, that's it :) You can pick one up off craigslist for probably 10-20 bucks non-working. If you want to control the humidity by the fridge, find a cheap one that's working.

Your best bet, in the pc grow case, is to do a small ScroG with a couple more plants in a shoebox sized rubbermaid storage container. One that will fit and maximize your space to the absolute fullest! You could also do LST on it. This can control (to some extent) the height that your plant will get to. Not to mention, fatter colas!!

I grow in 1.5 L bottles cut down to 1 L forming a SoG. I don't even like using the term rootbound, but the poster is asking which lights are okay for a plant. I assumed he wasn't a very experienced grower, and rootbound can get the best of the newbies! :)
