lol. cap is so full of shit. we sell some of their shit next gen ballast and more have been returned than not. they suk ass.. itrs all cheepo chinease crap. next time they need to use a real quality ballast. and it dont take much to throw the real readings out on them meters, ive had a few and same brnads even gave diff readings in same lighting. not accurate. all they need to do is fuk with calbration to sell you stuff.

im not saying all will fail, but as a store we send em back all the time. i just sent a whole skid back of faulty ones, cap also makes a faulty co2 bunrer. the gen 1 and gen 2 are catching on fire and have burnt a few homes down already, i had to return 5 skids of htose recently. cap controlers is also r and m supply out of cali and they have gotten to big now and quality control went out the window on some items.
ive ran many bulbs myself and ill stick to the better customer service and quality of hortilux. ive also noticed my bulbs are lasting longer as far as colour loss goes as well. hortilux is also phillips and i feel they are the best in bulb tech in any size or type of bulbs.

i'd say it depends on the grow... some swear by 1000 some like 400 idk

...if you are in a place that is naturally cold, then the higher you will want to take the watts to help with the temp...but also consider how large your crops...

no particular brands.... choose the one with a better warranty..

what? people by heaterrs if temps are low not bigger bulbs. temps have nothing to do with what bulb to run. choose a bulb by a warrantee??? your joking right? so a cfl with a way way longer life and warrantee is a better choice ove hid?

no i cant say how well they do work but havent tried any that have been as good as my horti yet and i have tried almost all out there so far. if my store brings those in i may try some to see how they work. all salesman will say theirs is better...even mc donalds does and we all know that aint true

I replaced my GE HPS with a hortilux and it blew it away. I'm not talking an extra qp per grow but it definately helped, and over time will more than pay for itself.
