What do you think of my setup and are RVK fans loud?

Its been a while since iv grown anything and last time i did it on a real budget and basically had 1000w light and a fan in a cupboard. Grow actually worked and was surprised although it was a low yeild so i thought id leave it until i had money for the kit i needed.

The time is now!!! haha

So iv ordered all my stuff and would like to know what you think??

Below is my current list of items waiting to be delivered (carnt wait)

• 6" / 150mmA1 RVK Fan, Rhino Pro Carbon Filter, 5m Combi Duct Kit
• POWERPLANT AEROWING AIR-COOLED REFLECTOR AND CORD
• 600w dual-spectraum light and ballast (not ditgital )
• LCD Digital Internal and External Thermometer Hygrometer Fahrenheit/Centigrade
• PLUG AND GROW HEAVY DUTY TIMER - SWITCH 600W GROW LIGHT
• 2 PLUG AND GROW SELF RETRACTING PLANT YOYO HANGERS

I have not decided on a potting/hydroponics kit yet so going to leave them until i come to a decision. I would like to go the hydro route but money could be an issue :/

I have heard mixed opinions on the RVK fan's because some people say there like jets and others say they sound similar to a normal desk fan.

This has got me worried as i want this to be a steal grow as i will be growing it in my dorm room at uni and don't want the person in the room next to me saying WTF's that noise coming from your room haha.

So can i get some advice on if its that loud and if so what can i do to contain the noise to my room??? also what do you think of my setup so far

p.s anyone seen these 550gram per plant auto-flowering seeds? are they legit or bullshit?

hahaha i had a feeling it was but i did see this 303 gram plant called 'autoxtreme' and the grow log here "http://www.dutch-passion.nl/en/news-and-development/AutoXtreme-review-by-JTang/" looks legit. so i was hoping the 550 one would be too

Someone on here posted a link to his grow and gave thorough details on some autos that yielded stupid amounts. They were in hydro, and took something like 95 days from seed. The yield was over 10oz per plant. I was sceptical, and asked for evidence - he gave it. He did concede that most autos will come nowhere near, but the two strains he mentioned - one was an auto Mazar of some description I think - when fully dialled in on a hydro set up can pull close to the stated 550g's.

And to the OP - yeah, rvk fans are loud. I'm now using an acoustic fan with 5 times the air removal power that is easily half as noisy as the old rvk. Sketched me out so bad I had to get the new one.

Dam i already paid for it.... DAM LOUD RVK!!!! why carnt you be acoustic and quiet.

How loud is one when it all hooked up? in terms of something like a car horn or a whisper (i wish it was a whisper) etc...

Iv heard that you can get fan controllers but some cause your fan to hum.... any ideas in a cheap one that does not cause a hum?

Mine sounded like a small vacuum cleaner. A proper whirring noise. It was only a problem for me as my grow tent is up against a public hallway.

my grows going to be university dorms so i am worried about the people am living with hearing it... any good ideas on making it so the noise can be kept inside my room or am i screwed?
