What Do You Think Of my Water? 48ppm brita & 80ppm soft faucet...

i tested the water and my sink water is actually pretty decent according to the chart in the water thread.

brita filtered was 48ppm and cold soft faucet water was around 80ppm.

are these ideal for plant growth since they contain a little bit of minerals and such?

or is this harmful and could likely cause deposit buildup later on?

i would rather pay the money to get distilled or reversed osmosis water if they are like 0 ppm and help the plants growth and health better.

what do you suggest??? thanks.

thats really good for tap water, what is the pH of it coming out of the faucet and out of the filter?

first... it is quite difficult to read a ph meter when you are slightly color blind.

i should have bought the digital one...

anyways.

after multiple readings -- and i just realized i should have added some solution to make it go up and make it go down to see the difference... actually im going to go do that, and if any of the measurements change ill tell you.

but basically for the tap its around 6.5-7.5 and the brita is around 6.0-7.0 i will check it again to see.

Ok that is very low ppm... BUT what you want to know is what those trace minerals are if you are using it(or at least I would).... or you can always just give it a try and see if your plants like it.
As for distilled or RO water, alot of the times not even ro/distilled water have 0 ppm'. Actually most I have seen are RO 20 ppm and distilled was 10ppm.

SO figure out your ph and then give the plants some good old trial and error to see what those trace minerals are in your faucet!

good point! with both. i think im going to just try it out and see what the deal is.

how would i be able to tell if the water is bad for the plants... before lock up?

you cant all you can do is run with it and see if they like it! maybe try only one first and then see how it reacts and if its good then go to town with it!

yeah i think im just going to use my faucet water and train the girls to live off that ph... hopefully this is not completely foolish on my part, but Christ Willing all things will work out great!

thanks for your help.

dude your water is fine use it these moron hippies dont know shit my well water starts out at almost 500 ppm and i havent ever had a single prob and i run my chem line so hot my meter cant even read it it just errors out. you ph is what you need to watch but unless there realy young clones or some super touchy strain your ppm doesnt matter so much. remeber its a weed it wants to grow you dont have to make it hard on yourself by buying into these guys bs and all this extra crap they have on the market

HAHAHA i LOVEEE your signature deisel! "sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and Appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt."!!! hahaha SO DAMN TRUE! man brother you speak nothing but the Truth.

oh and thanks for speaking the Truth about the water... hahaha that is hilarious that you use well water and the ppm is 500! haha THERE IS JUST NO WAY THAT IS POSSIBLE! IT JUST GOES AGAINST ALL LAWS OF PHYSICS AND BIOLOGY! haha i hope that my 80ppm water will not kill my plants... and because i joke about that it probably will... haha Christ Willing He'll Do whatever needs to be done.

anyways thanks for the reassurance of me using my water... i DEFINITELY know i am using my faucet water now.

cheers brother.

Moron hippies or not, you still need to know what contaminents your feeding your plants! Think about when they get sick and you have no clue what youve been feeding them!
If I had 500ppm in my tap water that I was feeding my girls with I sure as hell would want to know what was in that water, ESPECIALLY if I was going to be adding more ferts too it. But regaurdless, you want to know what those ppm are representing so you dont kill your whole crop in the long run.

I would be careful who you listen too because you might just be growing that strain that cant handle your tap water!

who i listen to? i been growing for over 15 years and so far as i can tell the shit in city water is worse than anything that could come out of my well. if you realy want nice clean water for free take off a down spout and catch some rain water it runs about 20 ppm but the ph will be high youll need to adjust that
