What do you think

I'm a total newb at growing skunk but i would love to and i have recently tried.
I'm a total pothead but i dont want to be doing nothing too spectacular.
I had about 30 dark seeds from a few bags of weed i bought.

I germinated all the seeds together in some paper towels and pretty much all of them sprouted. But i was stuck with what to do

So I got just one big plant pot, and decided to spread the seeds out pushing them all about 1 inch in to the standard soil.

They were left outside for a week, in the cold, but surprisingly they all survived and started to leaf.

They were brought inside, and we re-potted about 10 - 15 of them.

I had them in my wardrobe, with 3 standard bulbs on them, and the wardrobe was covered in tin foil.

They were watered 2-3 days with some miracle grow stuff and they were getting big.

But all of a sudden they all just went floppy, the leaves curled up slowly, went brown and just died.

Since, my mum bought me a 75W UV Light. Its the sort that makes white stand out.

I have one plant remaining, but it looks like it will die.

I have got it under the light, in my mums wardrobe now, with no tin foil.

We are hoping maybe it will survive.

But since I have seen my DREAM seeds hahaha

Dwarf plant. I never knew about these until recent.



I want to grow just one or two dwarf plants but I dont want to have to use tin foil again and I only want to use the light I have.

Where abouts do you think would be a good place to use the light i have, to grow one or two dwarf plants.

Do you think I would need special nutrients (i think the miracle grow stuff i have is crap).

I really dont have a clue what to do, i just want to do it easily, nothing major.

There is a bit more to growing than seeds and a light. I suggust that you read read and read more. There is a section near the top of the page called GrowFAQ. Tons of great info in there. Also read the forums and you can easily find answers to most of your questions.

hmmm...see dude, basically, to get some shit to smoke, u HAVE to invest atleast something.

Get a proper grow room..
even a closet or a cabinet wud do..
get cfl lights...they're cheap..
get 2 PC fans for ventilation of ur grow room..

read more..learn more.. then and only then can u start growing...

there are many ppl here who wud defintely help u...

ditto, yep read the growfaq...sadly those bulbs will probably not work.....but yea do some reading you will figure out what you need to do.

but i dont want to have to have a grow room or anything to obvious,

i literally want one or two of these mini dwarf plants, they wont take up much room...

i have a 400watt sodium bulb, but dont want to use it because the cost of electricity.

also i have got a fish tank light, would i be able to use this?

i have a friend who says he has used it, but i just want to be sure it works.

i have a tiny closet grow space for them.

hey if u wondering wat to use in a small space at a small cost check out my grow journal on my link, im also converting a wardrobe at the moment u may like to see this also.

either way you're going to have to have some closet space for them to grow in. You need an 'environment' so-to-speak for control temp/humidity but most of all LIGHT. You have to control the amount of light your plant gets... lighting schedules (hours of light vs hours of DARK) are what cause 'buds' to grow... if you can't control how much light it gets, don't know how successful it'll be.

You really don't have to spend a lot to grow... with anything the more you invest the better the product. I've done mine relatively cheap, and others have too.. you can check out the book 'Bud for Less' its a full picture documentary/tutorial on how to grow for less than $100.

Your fishtank light may be good for your veging stage, when the seeds start to sprout, and you get them to grow before you put them in the 'flower' stage where you get buds this is where the HPS does its magic... though you can use the HPS for all stages of growth.

The biggest shame is that you have a 400watt just being ignored. I only have 150watt and some CFLs myself, a 400 is on my wish list. Assuming you have the right fixture/ballast for the bulb (do you?)... that is a powerful growing tool, and it really wont be a lot electricity/price wise.

If you want check out my journal (link below) I've started ghetto and have slowly added items... but I still haven't 'invested' a lot of money... less than $200 I'm sure. If not mine (since I am growing Hydro), there are many "newb" grow journals.. take a look and see how the other newbies are doing it.

Another book that is handy is the 'Medical Marijuana Grower's Bible' by Jorge Cervantes... this and 'Buds for Less" can be found on amazon.com or any Borders or barnes and noble. There is a lot of info to soak up at first, not going to lie... but RIU is great for learning, dont know where I'd be without it.

Oh an YouTube is a gem for learning the basics. Really.

i definately wont be using the 400watt just yet, i do have a tiny wardrobe space but im going to get some nice seeds and dwarf my plants

I'm thinking about doing two. I heard from someone on here if I do my light timer at 12/12 they will bud quicker, plants will be smaller, and yeild a bit less.

does anybody know if this is true?

i've seen that alot of people grow with 23 watt cfl's. im thinking about getting a few.
if i wanted 3 plants, how many 23watts cfls would you say i need?

also i need to know of some good nutes, bearing in mind i live in england.

for my last try, i used this miracle gro powder. 1/4 teaspon - litre



also please would anybody know what temp they should be, what PH they should be. and how to test the PH.

im totally noob at this, LOL

if i was to say get 6 - 23 watt cfls would i be able to veg and flower then plants with them on a 12/12 light timer.

autoflowering plants dont need 12-12 lighting they can grow on 24/0 i grow my lowryders under 18/6 light cycle. how many plants do u plan on vegging under the 6-23w cfls?i also live in england and i use bio-bizz nutes.

so i will need my lights on 24/7 until harvest?

ive currently got 8 seeds in paper, with one sprouted.
theyve only beeen in paper for 24 hrs.

atm ive got a fish tank hangin on a pole in my wardrobe with tin foil for extra heat. ive got a standard heater aswell.

ive decided im going to veg the plants with the fish light and hopefully put a 400 sodium on them for flowering

any ideas on what time to use the 400?, bearing in mind i cant use alot of electricity

hey, hows things? well you could wait untill ur gona switch into flowering then use it then, coz atleast then its only on for 12 hours a day.
