I never said it was a bad soil. It's actually a great soil, very rich in nutrients your plants need to prosper. It's easy to make the same mix for less $ though. That's all were saying.

always wanted to try making my own soil, any good recipes?

I have almost completed my first grow outdoors. Go to garden shop an get yourself a planter box. You will need easy access to water and some good nutrients like seaweed extract. Your soil doesn't need to be the most expensive. It's what you put into the soil as you go.
