What does my plant want?

Hey All,

First time grower here. I started my plant about 2.5 weeks ago, and it seems to be growing, albeit maybe a bit slowly? Either way, I just wanted to post some pics to see if anybody has something to say regarding my next steps. It seemed to have a stint for about a week where it wasn't growing, but I think it's somewhat come back to life. The first pic is day 11, second pic is day 17. I'm growing in Fox Farms Ocean Forest, and so far have only been using ph adjusted water. I'm using 3x23w 6500k and 1x23w 2300k CFLs.

So...any advice? Do I just need to be patient?

maybe you compacted the soil to much? or maybe its just bad genetics with my first grow i compacted the soil to much and it didnt grow at all than i bought some seed raising shit and just poured it into the pot didnt compact it at all and it was really fluffy and after i did that my seedlings grew so fast

With not knowing anything about your schedule, I would guess.... you need to water more.

It has been unable to get nutrients out of the soil thats why the cotyldon leaves turned yellow and died off so fast. Water it more until it is about 4-5" tall.

I'm not familiar with FFOF. If it has nutrients GG is right. If no, you'll need to add some diluted grow nutes.

The lights are a few inches away, I haven't measured temps exactly but it's around room temperature. I'm watering it every couple days, but maybe I'm not giving it enough water. I tried upping the amount of water I gave it today and we'll see how that works out. :)

For the first... I'd say two weeks I water every day (actually I mist with a spray bottle) usually 2-3 times, after that I slow to watering from a cup of water every other day or so.

Good luck! They will perk up once the soil is moist enough for the roots to begin soaking up all that nutrient goodness you paid for!
(Even if you just mist it moist for 3 days in a row then go back to how you've been it will probably be enough to kick them into the grow mode you want)
