What driver for 4x VERO29SE 80 CRI C ?

yes but at 100W youll have significant thermal droop. the 133s on my site have a provision for a 50mm fan that uses about a watt and keeps the chips cool

Mounted the driver outside the closet. Now with door open its 75 degrees inside and with it closed its 80. Now that I can close the closet / dont need to run extraction fans , can get into running some CO2! STOKED!

I run each of my vero 29c on a generic dimmable 50-70v, 700ma driver that provides a PWM output. It allows me to set the power consumption for each cob from off up to 43.6w. They are easy to find for a few dollars each and I haven't had any fail since I switched over to PWM a couple years back.

There are a number of benefits over using 1 meanwell driver for multiple cobs. First it reduces single points of failure; a driver fail will only take out 1 cob rather than your entire array. The second is PWM current to the cob rather than stabilized DC which is what I think most people are missing.

PWM just turns on and off many times per second. LED manufacturers recommend using it over stabilized current that runs continuously to the led since it improves efficiency, reduces heat generation and increase longevity. The numbers given on most data sheets are for pulsed (aka PWM) current since that is how they are expected to be used.

Does it work for growing? Short answer is yes according to grower's best friend, Emerson:

where they found that the photosynthetic cycle took 0.02sec (20ms) at 25c to complete. 50 pulses of light per second at 20ms intervals provides enough light to keep chlorophyll busy. If using pulses 1ms each, that means only 5% of energy is needed in comparison to a continuous current producing light 100% of the time. With that information you can figure it out on your own

Those seem to be 135 x 70. Mine are 140 x 80.

But if you run your COBs around 80 watts they will be fine. If you want to run them at 1400mA then I would get the next size up for passive cooling. I prefer to simplicity of passive.

If you want to go active cooling then they are totally fine.

yeh, it's just in case i want to run them higher, but i think that 70w of each cobs are fine, anyway i found this heatsinks for cree, https://www.arrow.com/en/products/lmh020-hs00-0000-0000081/cree, maybe they will work, if not ,going to choose the heatsinks from @CobKits

Do you have a link to some worth buying? I wouldn't mind ordering a couple cobs to try these with. LDD's are pretty cheap also but obviously not pwm. Even ones that run 50v B's or God forbid the trailer park special 36v D's (just kidding to all those who own them
It's hard wading through all the crap online so having a link is worthwhile if there's one available (I realize you stated the shop you got them doesn't sell them anymore or something).

Well here is the only meanwell one with pwm output:

but it is cv and max is 48v.

The ones I have aren't made anymore (Turefull and Nl brands) or at least I can't source them. I thought they were junk with efficiency listed at >88% but that is the range for PWM drivers.

These are also only 300hz vs the 1.3khz of the meanwell. My objective is to see the impact of frequency on results, as per Emerson and Arnold that found 50hz was optimal. If it is then we are providing a lot of light that's being wasted during the photosynthetic cycle. Plus with Vero g7, you can double the max nominal current if the are pulse driven according to the data sheet.

Someone smarter than me with automation can probably figure out how to do it with an arduino or something. Wish list:

1. Multiple channels capable of providing up to 2.5a each at 70v (for Vero 29c)
2. Adjust the frequency of the duty cycle from 50-1khz
3. Easy way to adjust the duty cycle.

Those guys with aquariums use LED controllers with PWM output for low to mid powered LEDs but nothing up for cobs or other high voltage light.

Im trying to find one of these on ebay but must be missing something.

Drivers on TastLED will do that.

I think you'll be able to cover a 3x3 with four lights around 50W each, I'd add two more cobs to handle the 3x4.

No ther no efuff. Foe 100watt. But u can do it get 4 40mm fans 12volts. Run a 5volts. Just a nuff mabey 12volt but i do it fuck pay for usa heat sink get some sinks put fans on thsm




Now u whant a 10 fixs. Arctic heat sink with fan look them up on eBay get the name of what they are physically called Arctic12 heat sink. Look up on ebay. 100watt pc flat heat sink look mean jeen used tham thay work but he used i think at 700mah so but i no 100watt sinks
