I miss the family atmosphere.I don't want to take advantage of this site.
I promised I'd donate when I had the cash, and I did...therefore, I'm elite till next year. But the majority of my threads were cleaned out after my accidental banning.
I can understand if a thread is too big, but I wish they'd give the op warning first so they can copy their favorite parts to their computer.I reread a lot of my old threads, it was good times. Now I'm afraid to even start a thread...because I try to be friendly and talk to everyone.I was told to use chat...fine,but I don't like to be ragged on by people, and sometimes that happens in there, and I'm not in the mood. Also,
not everyone is on the same schedule,so they can respond at their leisure in a thread.I suggested we volunteer threads of our own for deletion, but that's awaiting rolli's approval
.I try to greet newbs if I see them, I try to offer grow advice if I know how to help with a specific problem. I try to rep people just to make them feel good, and I report trolls who make multiple accounts just to attack members, scam threads where they're trying to sell something, and underage posters. If I give a neg rep, I leave my name, and I'd never share with anyone, even my other friends, the contents of a pm to me.If I see a personal attack that's way out of line, I've reported those, too, but I tell the person it's been reported. No, I'm not a narc, I just try to be a good citizen of this site.I'd never reveal personal identities,or grows, or anything like that.
When I start a thread, I usually make it clear it's supposed to veer off topic.
I joined this site because of the off topic portions of threads, the fun banter between the users. The personalities.I could have just lurked and read the growfaq.
I donated because I gave my word I would, and because this site is the reason I had a successful harvest.
Perhaps if we all email the admin with our feedback (click rollitup.org, scroll down to the bottom of the page, click contact us) in a polite and constructive manner, we can get to the bottom of this.Rolli seems like a smart guy.Surely he wants happy members. The happier the members, the more likely they are to become elite members.
Also, I have a suggestion for the site...
I'm a member of a computer forum. When a newb posts a problem, and it's been solved, they mark it as solved. It stays on the server a while for people to reference...then, if it's a duplicate of another problem or already covered in some other way, they delete it.
I've been attempting infrequently tp learn about vbulletin...one day I will actually sit down and read the whole thing.
