So here is the thing guys, I ll have to go travel for a month on jun 11th, if I start the grow now, is there anyway i can finish it? My seeds are Candy Cane from bc seed kings, they say it's 7 weeks auto flowering
Is is possible to harvest before I leave? Or if I just leave it there whats going to happen?
Anyone with experience?

why dont you just wait till you get back, thats cuttin it reeeeel close
I ll be really busy after I come back :(
I know i m pushing it a bit too hard...
but say... if you harvest 4-7days before its really good to go, what would happen? Lose of potency? Bad taste?

You could easily let your plants sit until you get back. they would be stone cold snap like a twig dead when you got back though. possibility for mold/mildew if theres a lot of fan leaves that didnt get used up by the plant.
the only real difference potency wise is your trichs would amber a lot more and with ambering the thc degrades into CBD.
letting it totally finish until death would be a 70/30 amber to milky ratio

so is it like drying and curing without killing it first?

imo id say take it a few days early and hang to dry before you leave that way when you get back it will be ready for a nice smoke

But some people say you ll have to dry for 3-5 month for real good taste

No you dry around a week and the cure can take months or a month. Decent after two weeks. The slower cure will help potency some and taste will skyrocket. But isnt mandatory

well if you take it before you leave and let it dry then it will have a month to dry but no way i usually dry about a week to 2 weeks then through in a jar a burb it for a bout another week
but if you cut it and hang dry it while before you go it will deffinitly be ready for you when you get back and when you do get back through it in a jar if its really crispy and may b you like ur smoke that way idk take a tiny peice of lettuce or about a 1 inch x 2 inch piece of damp paper towel and put that in the jar but no longer than 8 to 12 hours as you dont want to mold it up and should bring back some of moisture so not like crumbling when you touch it

If they say it will take 7 weeks, it will probably take 8 if growing in soil. My guess, at 7 weeks you will be smoking dried pistils with nearly no thc. And if you leave it out to dry for a month, it will be more like smoking hay.

I would suggest you wait until you have the proper time.

Drying, yes. Curing, no. it would most likely turn a brownish color and be super crispy after all the fan leaves and stalk dried out. assuming it doesnt rot from the stem up if your growing in soil

You could dry it for 7-10 days and then place a BOVEDA 62 pack in the jar.

This will keep RH at optimum levels for curing.

I've personally not used any as its hellishly expensive to get them in the uk but a lot of folks on RIU use them as its fool proof.

Unsure whether you still need to burp the jars or not though so you'd need to find some boveda users.

How many of the boveda sachets in a jar, say 2 litres? They got em on ebay.co.uk could be a handy thing to have.

So I believe it would be one boveda 62 pack per jar.

I'll check out eBay. Just be aware though that you could get stung for shipping.

To be fair, I didn't check if they were uk or us sellers, so that may screw it up. Might look a bit deeper into it myself. Got jars, got a couple of weeks til harvest... would make sense...
